Description/Taste
Micro Honeysuckle Flower™ varies in size and appearance depending on the specific variety and is small, measuring approximately three centimeters in length. The blooms have an elongated, tubular to trumpet shape with a slender, hollow cavity in the center. The ends of the petals flare out, and the larger top petal features four lobes, giving the edges a scalloped nature, while the lower petal is single-lobed. Inside the center of the flower are 4 to 6 thin and long stamens that are tipped with yellow-green pollen. Micro Honeysuckle Flower™ comes in vibrant shades of pink, orange, red, and yellow, and its petals are soft, velvety, and delicate. The entire bloom is edible and has a subtly crisp and tender consistency. Micro Honeysuckle Flower™ emits a floral, honeyed aroma. The flowers have a sweet, nectar-like taste with a faintly bitter, vegetal finish.
Seasons/Availability
Micro Honeysuckle Flower™ is available from spring through fall, typically from April to October.

Ethnic/Cultural Info
Honeysuckle flowers were part of several folkloric superstitions and beliefs throughout European history. There are over 180 species of Honeysuckle found in temperate regions worldwide. While only a few have edible flowers, Honeysuckle has been traditionally revered as an ornamental species in home gardens. In Ireland and England, it was believed that growing Honeysuckle around the entrance to a home would protect it from bad luck and evil spirits. The plant also acquired a reputation for welcoming prosperity by keeping bad things out and bringing good things in. Honeysuckle vines and shrubs were customarily planted along fences, archways, and doorways. During the Victorian Era in England, Honeysuckle flowers represented devotion and admiration. The plant was valued for its twining nature, symbolizing a unified and unbreakable love between a couple.
