The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has opened the seat resignation and withdrawal facility for candidates participating in NEET UG Counselling 2026 Round 1. This option is available specifically to candidates who selected the FREEZE option and joined the seat allotted to them in the first round.
As stated in the MCC notification, eligible candidates can submit their resignation request between 2:00 PM on August 31, 2026, and 1:00 PM on September 2, 2026. Candidates who decide to give up their allotted seat must complete the resignation process physically at the concerned allotted institute.

Candidates who intend to resign should make sure they complete the process within the specified window and follow the instructions issued by MCC and their allotted institute.
It is evident from the information provided by MCC that all resignations filed during the stipulated time limit would be considered without any deduction from the security deposit paid.
Moreover, candidates should also make sure that their resignation or withdrawal slip for the allotted seat comes out of the MCC website via the nodal officer of the allotted college. In case of incorrect generation of the resignation slip, the resignation might not be considered valid.
In case a candidate wants to resign from his/her Round 1 allotted seat, then he/she should do that before the deadline.
