The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released the NEET UG Counselling 2026 Round 2 seat matrix, adding 659 new seats across MBBS, BDS and BSc Nursing programmes.
Candidates participating in the MCC NEET UG Counselling 2026 process can complete their registration through the official MCC website at mcc.nic.in. The registration window for Round 2 is scheduled to remain open until September 8, 2026.
During Round 1 of NEET UG Counselling 2026, more than 29,000 seats were allotted to candidates. The total number of seats available in the round was 31,728.

Candidates eligible to participate in the second round can complete the registration process online through the MCC counselling portal.
The registration process involves the following steps:

Select the NEET UG Counselling 2026 registration link.
Enter the required details and complete the registration form.
Pay the prescribed counselling registration fee.
Select and submit preferred colleges and courses.
Lock the choices before the specified deadline.

MCC has introduced certain changes and facilities in the counselling process to streamline admissions for candidates.
Candidates who receive a seat and select the upgrade option for subsequent counselling rounds are not required to physically report to the allotted college at that stage, as per the applicable counselling provisions.
Their allotted seat remains part of the counselling process while they participate in subsequent rounds.
MCC has also provided an online resignation facility for candidates who wish to leave their allotted seats. Eligible candidates can submit their resignation request through the MCC counselling portal within the prescribed timeline.
Candidates applying under the NRI quota can submit the required documents through the online MCC counselling portal as per the applicable process.
According to the MCC counselling schedule, the MBBS academic session for 2026-27 is scheduled to commence on September 8, 2026.
While classes begin for candidates who have completed admission, the counselling process for remaining vacant seats will continue through the subsequent rounds.
