MCC has released the provisional Round 2 seat allotment result for NEET UG Counselling 2026. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) oversees the national-level allocation of medical seats, while the final allotment result is expected to be announced shortly.
The provisional allotment list covers MBBS and BDS seats under the All India Quota (AIQ) along with other seats managed through MCC counselling.
Alongside the Round 2 counselling process, the updated NEET UG 2026 seat matrix has also been released. The matrix provides details of the seats available across different states, Union Territories and medical colleges. According to the latest data, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has added 13,186 MBBS seats across 27 states and UTs, taking the total number of MBBS seats to 1,40,214.
Karnataka recorded the highest increase, with 1,650 additional MBBS seats. The state now has 15,745 MBBS seats across 76 medical colleges.
Tamil Nadu ranked second, adding 1,250 seats and taking its total MBBS seat count to 14,299.

Karnataka's addition of 1,650 seats represents approximately one-eighth of the total seats newly introduced in the revised matrix. Tamil Nadu, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh also recorded increases of more than 1,000 seats each.
Together, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh contributed 5,340 of the 13,186 newly added MBBS seats, making these four states the largest contributors to the increase.
The increase in MBBS seats has not been uniform across all parts of the country. While 27 of the 34 states and UTs included in the matrix recorded an increase, seven states/UTs saw no addition.
