CBS, which is on track to win its 17^th consecutive season as the most-watched network, today announced its 2025-2026 primetime programming lineup of CBS Originals, featuring one new comedy, four action-packed dramas, three unscripted series, 18 returning series, sports and special event programming. It also revealed new series orders for Y: MARSHALS and HARLAN COBEN’S FINAL TWIST.

The 2025-2026 schedule reflects significant programming moves:

• Mondays launch a powerful new Dick Wolf drama block from 9:00-11:00 PM with FBI and CIA and offbeat new comedy DMV at 8:30 PM.

• Tuesdays introduce the first-ever all NCIS night featuring the #1 global franchise from 8:00-11:00 PM.

Wednesdays add two big names for midseason and spring with HARLAN COBEN’S FINAL TWIST true-crime series and Padma Lakshmi’s cooking competition series AMERICA’S CULINARY CUP airing after the highly anticipated SURVIVOR 50.

• Fridays package three compelling Jerry Bruckheimer Television-produced dramas: SHERIFF COUNTRY, FIRE COUNTRY and BOSTON BLUE.

• Sundays present two Taylor Sheridan-produced series, beginning with the singing competition series THE ROAD, featuring Blake Shelton, Keith Urban and Gretchen Wilson, for fall, and in midseason, the one-hour drama Y: MARSHALS (working title), starring Luke Grimes reprising his role as Kayce Dutton.

THE ROAD offers viewers a backstage pass into the gritty and unforgiving life of a touring artist. With exclusive access to behind-the-scenes workings of the music industry, viewers will see what happens when some of the best up-and-coming performers pile into a tour bus and tackle a grueling schedule in pursuit of their dreams. From executive producers Taylor Sheridan, Blake Shelton, David C. Glasser, Lee Metzger and Keith Urban, the docu-follow format trails GRAMMY Award winner Urban on his journey to discover the next big artist alongside GRAMMY Award winner Gretchen Wilson, who acts as the “tour manager.” Singers will join the headliner on tour, performing as opening acts in venues across the country. They will compete to win over local fanbases to secure a spot in the next city and remain on the tour.

DMV, based on award-winning author Katherine Heiny’s short story, is a single-camera workplace comedy set at the place everyone dreads going most: the DMV. Our quirky and lovable characters are making minimum wage, doing a thankless job where customers are annoyed before they even walk in the door. Good thing they have each other.

DMV stars Harriet Dyer, Tim Meadows, Tony Cavalero, Molly Kearney, Gigi Zumbado and Alex Tarrant. Dana Klein will executive produce along with Aaron Kaplan, Wendi Trilling and Robyn Meisinger. Trent O’Donnell executive produced and directed the pilot from a script written by Klein. The series is produced by CBS Studios and will be distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.

CIA (Mondays, 10:00-11:00 PM)

CIA, starring Tom Ellis, is a one-hour crime drama centered on two unlikely partners – a fast-talking, rule-breaking loose cannon CIA case officer (Ellis), and a by-the-book, seasoned and smart FBI agent who believes in the rule of law. When this odd couple are assigned to work out of CIA’s New York Station, they must learn to work together to investigate cases and criminals posing threats on U.S. soil, finding that their differences may actually be their strength. CIA is a universe expansion of the FBI series.

CIA is executive produced by Dick Wolf, David Hudgins, Nicole Perlman & David Chasteen and Peter Jankowski. Hudgins will showrun. Eriq La Salle is set as director and as executive producer of the first episode. The series is from Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group, in association with Wolf Entertainment and CBS Studios.

SHERIFF COUNTRY (Fridays, 8:00-9:00 PM)

SHERIFF COUNTRY stars Morena Baccarin as straight-shooting sheriff Mickey Fox, the stepsister of Cal Fire’s division chief Sharon Leone (Diane Farr of FIRE COUNTRY). She investigates criminal activity while she patrols the streets of small-town Edgewater, contending with her ex-con father, Wes (W. Earl Brown), who is an off-the-grid marijuana grower, and a mysterious incident involving her wayward daughter. SHERIFF COUNTRY is an expansion of the universe of the hit drama series FIRE COUNTRY.

SHERIFF COUNTRY stars Morena Baccarin, W. Earl Brown, Matt Lauria, Christopher Gorham and Michele Weaver. The initial episode is being written by Tony Phelan and Joan Rater with story by Phelan, Rater and Max Thieriot. Executive producers are Thieriot, Phelan, Rater, Matt Lopez and Jerry Bruckheimer and KristieAnne Reed for JBTV. BOSTON BLUE stars Donnie Wahlberg as he reprises his role as NYPD officer Danny Reagan in a universe expansion of the long-running top drama BLUE BLOODS. In the new drama, Reagan takes a position with Boston PD. Once in Boston, he is paired with detective Lena Peters (Sonequa Martin-Green), the eldest daughter of a prominent law enforcement family.

BOSTON BLUE is produced by CBS Studios in association with JBTV. Brandon Sonnier & Brandon Margolis will showrun and executive produce. Paramount Global's Special Committee Unanimously Approves Merger with Skydance Media

PARAMOUNT GLOBAL'S SPECIAL COMMITTEE UNANIMOUSLY APPROVES MERGER WITH SKYDANCE MEDIA

NEW YORK, July 7, 2024 -- The Special Committee of the Board of Directors (the "Special Committee") of Paramount Global (NASDAQ: PARA, PARAA) ("Paramount" or "the Company") today confirmed that it has unanimously approved a merger agreement between Paramount and Skydance Media, LLC ("Skydance").

The Special Committee was formed on January 2, 2024, at the request of Paramount's controlling stockholder, National Amusements, Inc. ("NAI"), to evaluate potential transactions involving both NAI and Paramount as NAI considered its options relating to its investment in Paramount. The Special Committee retained independent financial and legal advisors, Centerview Partners LLC and Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP respectively. Over a period of more than six months, the Special Committee considered multiple approaches and constructs from various counterparties and solicited interest from potential counterparties for an acquisition of Paramount.

The merger agreement includes a 45-day "go-shop" period, which permits the Special Committee and its representatives to actively solicit and consider alternative acquisition proposals. There can be no assurance that this process will result in a superior proposal, and the Company does not intend to disclose developments with respect to the go-shop process unless and until it determines such disclosure is appropriate or is otherwise required.

On behalf of the Special Committee, Charles E. Phillips, Jr. said: "We are pleased to have reached an agreement that we believe delivers to Paramount stockholders both immediate value and future upside opportunity. The Special Committee, with the assistance of independent financial and legal advisors, conducted a thorough review of actionable potential transactions to drive value for our stockholders. In addition to economic value, the Special Committee took into account the certainty of closing and regulatory approvals. Following extensive negotiations with Skydance, we believe this proposed transaction will position Paramount for success in a rapidly evolving industry landscape. Upon closing, it will deliver immediate cash consideration at a premium to both the minority Class A and Class B stockholders, who will also benefit from what we believe to be considerable upside through continued equity participation in New Paramount."

Mr. Phillips continued, "The Special Committee would like to thank our Co-CEOs George Cheeks, Chris McCarthy and Brian Robbins for making significant progress on optimizing company operations in a short period of time, positioning Paramount for a sustainable transformation and a path to profitable growth going forward."

With this agreement, Shari Redstone, Paramount‘s non-executive chair, will sell her family’s controlling stake in the company. This will be a complex transaction, which will result in the new firm being worth around $28b (£21.9b).

The merger with Skydance Media will mark the end of an era for the Redstone family, whose late patriarch, Sumner Redstone, reshaped a chain of drive-in cinemas into a vast media empire.

Apart from Paramount, the group also includes television networks such as Nickelodeon, CBS, Comedy Central, and MTV.

In a statement, Shari said: “Our hope is that the Skydance transaction will enable Paramount’s continued success in this rapidly changing environment.”

According to the company, its TV channels have a global reach of over 4.3b subscribers in more than 180 countries.

Under the merger, Skydance will invest around $8b into Paramount, which will include paying $2.4b for National Amusements, which controls the group and owns about 10% of Paramount Group’s shares, but accounts for around 80% of its voting rights.

Paramount has stated that it is expecting to close the deal by summer 2025.

The announcement of the merger came after eight months of deliberations that saw Shari holding talks with several potential partners, including Sony and Apollo, a private equity firm.

In April, Bob Bakish, Paramount’s chief executive, left the company after clashes with Shari Redstone on the Skydance merger.

February 8, 2024 – SHOWTIME announced today that the second half of the sixth season of the hit drama series THE CHI will return on Friday, May 10 on streaming and on demand for Paramount+ subscribers with the Paramount+ with SHOWTIME^® plan, before making its on-air debut on Paramount+ with SHOWTIME on Sunday, May 12, at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Victor’s (Luke James) tangled past impacts his new role as city councilman. Newlyweds Jada (Yolonda Ross) and Darnell (Rolando Boyce) fear for son Emmett after he makes a desperate, life-threatening move. Rob (Iman Shumpert) and Tiff’s (Hannaha Hall) cannabis business and Jake’s (Michael V. Epps) apparel line took off, and Papa (Shamon Brown Jr.) falls for an older woman while questioning his faith at the senseless loss of his beloved father. Kevin (Alex Hibbert) landed a big gaming opportunity in Los Angeles, leaving behind Maisha (Genesis Denise Hale) to fight for her own big career move in spite of manager Jemma’s (Judae’a Brown) newly divided attentions. But danger lies in wait…no one is safe and everyone will be tested as never before over the course of the sixth season’s shocking last eight episodes.

An adaptation of Amor Towles' internationally best-selling novel, A GENTLEMAN IN MOSCOW follows Count Alexander Rostov, played by Emmy^® Award-winning actor Ewan McGregor (Star Wars franchise, Halston, Trainspotting), who, in the aftermath of the Russian Revolution, finds that his gilded past has placed him on the wrong side of history. Spared immediate execution, he is banished by a Soviet tribunal to an attic room in the opulent Hotel Metropol and threatened with death if he ever sets foot outside again. As the years pass and some of the most tumultuous decades in Russian history unfold outside the hotel's doors, Rostov's reduced circumstances provide him entry into a much larger world of emotional discovery. Paramount+ has announced that production is underway in and around Fort Worth, Texas, on the highly anticipated original drama series LANDMAN, starring Oscar^® winner Billy Bob Thornton. Co-created by Oscar nominee Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, LANDMAN is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, 101 Studios and Sheridan's Bosque Ranch Productions exclusively for Paramount+.

In addition, Paramount+ has announced that Golden Globe^® nominee Demi Moore will also star in the original drama series as a series regular. Moore will play Cami, wife to one of the most powerful oil men in Texas and friend of Tommy Norris, played by series lead Billy Bob Thornton. Set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas, LANDMAN is a modern-day tale of fortune seeking in the world of oil rigs. Based on the notable 11-part podcast "Boomtown," the series is an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it's reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics.

The actress set a record in 1995 when she became the highest-paid actress in Hollywood, a testament to her star power and box-office appeal. Most recently, Moore can be seen in the second season of Ryan Murphy's anthology series Feud: Capote Vs. The Swans as socialite Ann Woodward, a former showgirl and radio actress who infamously was accused of murdering her husband in 1955. The actress soon will be seen in Coralie Fargeat's first studio feature, The Substance, alongside Margaret Qualley. Moore's acting career took off in the late 1980's when she starred in St. Elmo's Fire. She then went on to star in such iconic films as About Last Night... , Ghost, A Few Good Men, Indecent Proposal, The Scarlet Letter, Disclosure and G.I. Jane. Success poured into the following years with Moore consistently starring in well-grossing films including Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle, Bobby and Margin Call, among many others. She produced and lent her voice to QCode's podcast "Dirty Diana," which is being adapted into a series in which Moore will star. In 2019, she added New York Times best seller to her lengthy list of credits with her memoir Inside Out.

Weaving together intense personal journeys with jaw-dropping medical rescues in the most remote conditions, the new season thrusts the diverse group of medical responders into intense emergencies as they continue to rely on each other for survival 20,000 feet in the air.  As SkyMed expands, expect all new hookups, heartbreaks and challenges on the job as the team wrestles with what it really means to grow up and discover whether they can grow together or grow apart.
