SkyShowtime reveals trailer and local voice casts for its first animated original series Hidden Islands, premiering exclusively on platform from 5 December in Northern Europe

Fun-filled trailer teases heartwarming series from creators Madeleine Bernadotte and Karini Gustafson-Teixeira

SkyShowtime

Today SkyShowtime released the enchanting trailer and announced the local voice casts for its new family adventure series Hidden Islands. Following a growing catalogue of well-received original series and documentaries, Hidden Islands marks SkyShowtime’s first foray into animation and entertainment for the whole family to enjoy, with the series premiering exclusively on the platform in Northern Europe from 5 December.

Consisting of 20 seven-minute episodes brought to life by an award-winning team with extensive experience in children’s animation, the series will have local voice casts for Denmark, Finland, Netherlands, Norway and Sweden.*

Hidden Islands tells the story of three children who end up on a mythical group of islands and soon realise that this is no ordinary place: the islands are slightly out of sync with the rest of the world, and they hold a big secret - a secret that will change their lives and which could save the world! The three children must use all their wit and work together as a team with nature to find hidden clues that can help them unravel the mystery and get back home.

The series is created by duo Madeleine Bernadotte and Karini Gustafson-Teixeira, who previously co-wrote children’s book Stella and the Secret. Through Hidden Islands, the pair hope to encourage children to explore nature and connect with the outside world in an organic and meaningful way.

The animated series is produced by OYA Copenhagen, the creative studio producer behind Mia’s Magical Playground, with executive producers Camilla Hammer and Sarita Christensen. The series is directed by Peter Egeberg and written by Myles McLeod, Evgenia Golubeva, and Pelle Møller. Design by art director Julie Hauge and designer Bea Estevez. Sound design by Morten Dalsgaard. The score was composed by August Fenger, also known as ELOQ.

Hidden Islands is produced with support from The Public Service Fund in Denmark. Development financing was provided by Midnight Sun in Sweden, with production financing from OYA Copenhagen in Denmark.

Hidden Islands joins the growing library of family favourites available to stream on SkyShowtime including How to Train Your Dragon (2025), The Bad Guys 2, The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants, Paw Patrol S1-13 and Wicked: For Good.

Created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, Yellowjackets is the saga of a team of wildly talented high school girls soccer players who become the (un)lucky survivors of a plane crash deep in the remote northern wilderness. Equal parts survival epic, psychological horror story and coming-of-age drama, the series chronicles their descent from a complicated but thriving team to savage clans, while also tracking the lives they’ve attempted to piece back together nearly 25 years later, proving that the past is never really past and what began out in the wilderness is far from over.

Paramount+

Season four stars Emmy nominee Melanie Lynskey, Emmy nominee Christina Ricci, Tawny Cypress, Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, Samantha Hanratty, Courtney Eaton, Liv Hewson, Warren Kole, Kevin Alves, Sarah Desjardins, Nia Sondaya, Jenna Burgess, and two-time Academy Award winner Hilary Swank. Guest starring are June Squibb, Elijah Wood, Molly Ringwald, Devon Sawa, Sam Braun, Dulé Hill and more.

AUSTRALIAN ORIGINAL WHO THE HELL IS HAMISH? PREMIERES THURSDAY, DECEMBER 10 EXCLUSIVELY ON PARAMOUNT+

November 4, 2026 - Paramount+ has announced the Australian original drama, Who the Hell is Hamish?, will premiere globally on Paramount+, with all episodes available to binge on Thursday, December 10.

The trailer and key art are also now available for the six-episode drama which features an all-star ensemble cast led by Dominic Cooper and Claire van der Boom.

Inspired by the true story of an industrial fraudster and the victims who banded together to take him down, Who The Hell Is Hamish? follows Hamish McLaren (Dominic Cooper) as he returns to Australia from Canada, not as a man in exile but as a man surveying his old domain, setting his sights on Bec (Claire van der Boom), a recently divorced single mum with three sons and access to a significant family trust. But when Bec begins to notice discrepancies in Hamish's story and some strange behaviour, what starts as personal doubt quickly widens into something far larger: a pattern of deception spanning continents and suspected of leaving a debt of more than $70 million in his wake.

The series stars Cooper and van der Boom alongside Simone Kessell (Yellowjackets), William McKenna (Heartbreak High), Kate Jenkinson (Wentworth), Miah Madden (My Brilliant Career), Fraser Anderson (Audrey), Yasmin Kassim (FING!), Doris Younane (Five Bedrooms), Maria Angelico (Strife), Marta Dusseldorp (Bay of Fires), John Howard (Colin from Accounts), Andrea Moor (Spit), Joel Jackson (Peter Allen), Remy Hii (Spiderman: Far From Home), Damien Garvey (The Survivors), Jack LaTorre (Kid Snow) and introducing Harvey Bowen.

Written and created by five-time AACTA-winning writer and producer Adam Zwar (Austin, Mr Black), directed by multi-award-winning film and television director Jeffrey Walker (The Artful Dodger, Apple Cider Vinegar) and produced by Emmy® and BAFTA® Award-winning production company Hoodlum Entertainment and CBS Studios.

Supported by the Queensland Government through Screen Queensland's Production Attraction Strategy and Post, Digital and Visual Effects (PDV) Incentive, and the Local Government through the City of Gold Coast's Screen Attraction Program. Paramount+ Offers Fear for Every Fandom This Halloween

PARAMOUNT+ OFFERS FEAR FOR EVERY FANDOM

Paramount+

This Halloween, Paramount+ is bringing the screams with a PEAK SCREAMING collection stacked with some of horror’s biggest franchises, iconic villains and fan-favorite films — spanning slashers, supernatural scares, post-apocalyptic thrillers and plenty of horror comedy. Leading this year’s lineup is the September 3 streaming debut of SCARY MOVIE (2026) and its Extended Cut, bringing the franchise’s signature no-horror-movie-is-safe humor home just in time for spooky season.

For fans who believe the only right way to celebrate Halloween is by watching an entire franchise from beginning to end, Paramount+ is ready for the marathon. The service is home to the complete collections of SCARY MOVIE, SCREAM, A QUIET PLACE, PET SEMATARY and PARANORMAL ACTIVITY — putting Ghostface, paranormal possessions, creatures with very good hearing and very bad intentions, and nearly every horror trope worth screaming (or laughing) about under one roof.

Paramount+

And the scares extend beyond the movies. Fans can sink their teeth into the complete DEXTER collection while getting ready for the upcoming second season of DEXTER: RESURRECTION, or head back into the wilderness with YELLOWJACKETS ahead of its final season, premiering November 20. PEAK SCREAMING digs even deeper with horror classics, cult favorites and newer thrills for every kind of fan — from those who want to be genuinely terrified to those who prefer their scares with a punchline.

So whether your Halloween plans call for a full-franchise binge, an old favorite, a killer series or something you’ll regret watching after dark, Paramount+ has your spooky-season watchlist covered.

🔪 COMING SOON 🔪

Dexter: Resurrection Season 2
