Update (11/4): This week, we’re celebrating a bittersweet milestone as Gene Luen Yang prepares to say goodbye to the Heroes in a Half Shell with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #24, arriving in comic shops next week!
AIPT has
unveiled a first look at new color pages from the issue, featuring art by Fero Pe and colors by Luis Antonio Delgado. With Yang’s run coming to a close, it sounds like the creative team is pulling out all the stops for one last adventure.
Yang also shared a special message with AIPT readers, reflecting on his time with the Turtles and the fans who made the experience memorable.
When I first signed on to write the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, I was told that Turtles fans were the nicest fans in comics. I have found that to be the case.
Thank you for supporting the book! Thank you for coming to our signings at conventions. Thank you for the little Turtle themed gifts.
I’m sad to leave the book, but I believe Fero and I are going out with a bang! Issue #24 has it all: unexpected reunions, strange alliances, a trip to the underworld, and pages and pages of Turtles action!
That’s quite the sendoff! Between a journey into the underworld and some unexpected reunions, Yang’s final issue promises plenty of surprises before the Turtles’ next chapter begins.
And while TMNT #24 is nearly here, there’s still time to get in on what’s coming next. Preorders for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #25 are still open, so be sure to let your local comic shop know if you want a copy!
For now, check out the new color pages from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #24 below, and join us in thanking Gene Luen Yang for his time with the Turtles!
