The Gist
Expanded language support. AI analysis now covers 13+ languages for global reach.
Enhanced action tools. Segment-level auditing and self-service surveys speed issue resolution.
Operational efficiency gains. Contact center and CX leaders gain faster insights and streamlined workflows.
Medallia announced its 2026 H2 product release on Sept. 24, broadening AI-driven analysis, language coverage and automation across its experience management platform. The update targets enterprise feedback analysis and action for customer experience, contact center and operations teams.
According to the company, the release organizes improvements into three pillars — Analyze, Assist and Automate — aimed at helping global organizations turn unstructured signals into faster, more accurate responses. New features span multilingual AI tools, segment-level auditing, self-service survey distribution and a preview of agentic automation.

Analyze Upgrades Target Global Programs
The Analyze pillar focuses on language coverage. Smart Response, Root Cause Assist and Intelligent Summaries now work natively in seven languages: German, French, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Italian and Portuguese. Medallia Speech adds six more for transcribed conversations: Russian, Cantonese, Swiss German, Norwegian, Turkish and Slovak.
The practical effect for multinational CX teams is fewer blind spots. Feedback from Tokyo, São Paulo or Oslo no longer has to be translated or routed to native-language analysts before it shows up in trend analysis.
Medallia cited two customer examples. It said one of the largest U.S. grocery retailers cut trend discovery from months to minutes with Root Cause Assist. It also said The Venetian Resort Las Vegas used Intelligent Summaries to turn internal disagreements about operational changes into fact-based action plans.
Assist Features Aim at the Insight-to-Action Gap
Most of the release lands in Assist, the pillar meant to move insights to the people who can act on them. The most technical addition is segment-level AI auditing in Smart Topic Builder. Admins can now check rule precision for a specific slice of data, such as agent-only contact center transcripts or a single survey program, in one click instead of auditing topic by topic.
That builds on Smart Topic Builder's general availability earlier this year. Medallia says the tool delivers 5x faster topic discovery and cuts topic update times by 85%.
Other Assist updates include:
- Smart Response localization. Teams can tailor email greetings to regional norms and swap signatures between a central team name and an individual's name in native languages. Medallia says Smart Response already cuts response times by up to 80%. It says customer Sekisui House raised its feedback response rate from 35% to nearly 90%.
- Self-service survey distribution. Admin Suite now lets teams set up push, SMS and custom channel invitations without vendor help. Medallia says early deployments with Albertsons produced a 21% year-over-year lift in digital sales, driven by push notifications sent right after checkout.
- Multi-metric Action Plans. Teams can track several outcomes on one plan with no configuration, pairing a metric like store satisfaction with ease of self-checkout to measure what a fix actually delivered.
- Insights Assistant expansion. The plain-language query tool is rolling out to more brands. Nearly 50 enterprise brands, including Ford Motor Company, AdventHealth and Margaritaville Hotels & Resorts, already use it.
Automate Remains a Roadmap, Not a Release
The third pillar is a preview rather than a shipment. Medallia states that Analyze and Assist are live today, while Automate describes where the company is headed.
The road map covers three areas:
- Conversational feedback. Always-on, AI-driven dialogue in place of fixed survey schedules.
- Action orchestration. Automatic routing and prioritization of tasks across service, operations and product teams.
- Agentic automation. AI agents that trace root causes and fix recurring problems, such as billing errors, before a customer ever files a ticket.
Medallia gave no timeline for any of these capabilities.
The agentic piece puts Medallia on the same path as much of the CX and contact center market, where vendors are racing to move from surfacing insights to acting on them. Medallia's pitch rests on governance. It says its agents will operate within the permissions and security hierarchy the platform has built over decades, which matters for enterprise buyers wary of autonomous systems touching customer accounts.
Medallia also used the release to note Forrester's recognition of the company as the only Leader in its 2026 Customer Feedback Management and Analytics Wave. The company says its Frontline-Ready AI now runs across more than 650 enterprise brands and processes 4.1 billion feedback signals a year, up 30% from last year.
What Has Medallia's 2026 Been Like?
Medallia's most consequential development of the past year is a full ownership overhaul. In June, the company entered a recapitalization agreement with a lender group led by Blackstone, Apollo and FS KKR Capital Corp, wiping out the $5 billion Thoma Bravo invested when it took Medallia private for $6.4 billion in 2021. Verdad Advisers cited the transaction as the second-largest private equity loss in industry history. The deal injected $150 million in fresh capital, reduced debt and funded CEO Mark Bishof's stated $500 million multiyear commitment to product and AI investment.
With its balance sheet stabilized, Medallia has moved aggressively on AI. Chief Strategy Officer Sid Banerjee outlined a three-stage build — AI-generated insights (shipped), conversational interfaces (rolling out) and agentic integrations (next frontier). July 2026 brought Frontline-Ready AI capabilities to general availability. More than 40% of its top 300 enterprise customers, representing over $200 million in software annual contract value, had enabled generative AI features within 12 months of launch.
AI Closes the Loop on Experience Intelligence
AI is pushing enterprise experience intelligence beyond passive feedback into automated analysis, closed-loop action and measurable outcomes.
Conversational Feedback & Smart Summaries
At its Experience '26 conference in February, Medallia unveiled generative AI capabilities designed to remove friction between insight and action. The centerpiece, Insights Assistant, lets teams query data in plain language to validate hypotheses and surface root causes while respecting role-based access controls.
Enhanced Action Planning ties insights directly to execution, linking operational changes to metrics such as NPS and CSAT.
Multilingual NLP & Topic Automation
Medallia's Smart Topic Builder uses AI to surface emerging themes in minutes rather than weeks. Human reviewers stay in the loop to audit and approve results, addressing concerns about black-box automation.
Native GenAI features now support French and German, with Spanish previously announced, enabling global teams to standardize analysis without native-language analysts on staff.
