🔒 Cybersecurity is everyone's responsibility. As we mark Cybersecurity Awareness Month, one thing is clear: mobile operators cannot protect consumers and society on their own. They are part of a wider ecosystem that includes digital platforms, banks, governments, regulators and law enforcement. Each has a critical role to play in preventing cyberattacks that exploit both individuals and technology. Cybersecurity is no longer just a technical challenge. It's a shared responsibility. The strongest defence is a connected ecosystem working together to stay one step ahead of evolving threats. #CybersecurityAwarenessMonth #Cybersecurity #OnlineSafety #DigitalTrust #ConnectivityForGood #CyberResilience https://lnkd.in/e9RXc8Ti

🌏 The GSMA joined the 66th RCC Board of Ministers and 33rd CIS Coordination Council meetings on 29th September 2026, held in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, bringing the mobile industry perspective to discussions on digital infrastructure, connectivity and investment across Eurasia. The meetings brought together communications administrations from RCC member states alongside the participants from other regions. 📱 Stimulating mobile investment Tair Ismailov, Regional Director, GSMA Eurasia, presented the GSMA’s Mobile Investment in Eurasia report, highlighting the importance of predictable regulation and investment-friendly policy frameworks to support sustainable network development. 👉 https://lnkd.in/ejF5dm-4 🤝 The discussions reinforced the importance of regional cooperation in creating the conditions for continued investment, connectivity and digital development across Eurasia. Building on the strong interest from RCC administrations and operator members, GSMA looks forward to working closely with stakeholders across the region to advance evidence-based policy, share international best practices, and support the region’s digital development priorities. A greener digital Europe comes with more efficient networks and the right conditions to modernise them. The #DigitalNetworksAct can help by supporting investment in more energy-efficient networks, smarter use of bandwidth and technologies that reduce the amount of data we need to move. While sustainability remains important, the DNA should not create additional layers of regulatory complexity. Operators already face extensive reporting obligations under various frameworks such as the CSRD. Additional sector-specific reporting under the DNA risks duplicating requirements and creating different approaches across Member States. Europe needs regulation that helps turn sustainability goals into real-world progress. It’s time to #DNAct for sustainability. 🌱 gsma.com/dnact

What’s next for EMF and mobile technology? The afternoon sessions of the 15th GSMA EMF Forum will kick off with Manfred Ruttner and Patricia MARTIGNE, who will discuss the EMF aspects of emerging mobile technologies and explore what new developments could mean for EMF exposure and policy. This will be followed by an update from Nikolaos Petroulakis and Mike Wood on NextGEM, the EU-funded research project exploring new approaches to monitoring and assessing radiofrequency electromagnetic field exposure and potential health impacts. Two sessions offering a look at both the evolution of mobile technology and the latest scientific research. 📅 13 October 2026 📍 Brussels + online Find out more and register: https://lnkd.in/d38m8tnz #EMFForum #EMF #5G #6G #NextGEM #EMFandHealth #EMFpolicy

Europe will need more mid-band spectrum and the decisions shaping tomorrow's networks are being made today. That’s why early clarity on future spectrum bands is essential. Mobile data demand will continue to grow in the coming decades, while Europe will need significantly more mid-band spectrum for the next generation of connectivity. The #DigitalNetworksAct’s provision for long-term spectrum roadmaps can give operators greater visibility on where and when spectrum will become available, helping them plan investment, develop new ecosystems and support harmonisation. For future bands such as upper 6 GHz, 7–8 GHz and sub-700 MHz, clarity today means greater predictability for investment tomorrow. It’s time to #DNAct for connectivity. 📶 https://www.gsma.com/dnact

🌎 At the recent Global Anti-Scam Alliance (GASA) Summit in San Francisco, stakeholders from across the anti-scam ecosystem came together to address one of the fastest-growing threats facing consumers and businesses worldwide and how to better protect them from increasingly sophisticated criminal activity. 🔏 The event showed that preserving digital trust is a shared responsibility and that only a truly collaborative approach can deliver lasting results. Two themes stood out: the growing recognition of the telecommunications industry’s role in scam prevention and AI-powered protection. GSMA - Policy and Regulation reposted this
Delighted to be in Athens for the Advanced Telecoms Summit, joining industry leaders, policymakers and technology experts to discuss the #connectivity and digital infrastructure that will underpin Europe’s future competitiveness. I was pleased to meet with Minister Dimitris Papastergiou of the Hellenic Ministry of Digital Governance, to exchange views on Greece’s digital ambitions, and the role of connectivity in driving investment, innovation and economic growth. We discussed the importance of creating the right investment environment for advanced digital infrastructure across Europe, as well as the CSA2 proposal. I also joined Konstantinos Karantzalos, Secretary General of Telecommunications and Post at the Ministry of Digital Governance and Artificial Intelligence, Aris Markou, from the Greek Mobile Operators Association, and Olga Nodarou of the EETT, for an in-depth discussion on the EU’s #DigitalNetworksAct. From the GSMA perspective, the DNA represents a crucial opportunity to reduce regulatory fragmentation, provide greater long-term investment certainty through spectrum policy, and create a framework that keeps pace with technological change. Getting this right will help accelerate 5G and future 6G deployment, strengthen Europe’s digital resilience, and enhance the continent’s competitiveness in an increasingly connected global economy. We also had interesting exchanges at the Hellenic Ministry of Finance. I look forward to continue our engagement with members and policy makers in this decisive period for Europe
