What does #5G monetisation look like in action? 🐎 At Melbourne’s Flemington Spring Racing Carnival, Telstra Broadcast Services and Network 10 trialled 5G network slicing to support live broadcast contribution from one of Australia’s premier racing events. The challenge was a familiar one for high-density venues: large crowds, fast-moving live sport, wireless cameras, congested networks and the need to deliver premium video content with consistent performance. Using 5G Standalone, the trial explored how a dedicated network slice could support high-bandwidth, low-latency uplink for live video feeds, helping broadcasters capture live content more flexibly in a crowded, high-pressure venue environment. For operators, this is where Multi-Tenant Environments (MTEs) become commercially tangible. What does a Multi-Tenant Environment look like in real life? 🎬 Sometimes, it looks like storytelling. During the production of Disney’s Lilo & Stitch, T-Mobile and The Walt Disney Studios StudioLAB used 5G connectivity to help production teams collaborate remotely and transfer cinema-quality footage from filming locations in Hawaii to studio teams in Burbank, California. That meant creative teams could review, collaborate and make decisions faster, helping keep production moving without compromising the creative process. For operators, it shows the MTE-style opportunity: shared 5G SA networks using capabilities like slicing to support high-value enterprise workflows. This is where 5G Standalone starts to feel tangible. From film sets to factories, ports, stadiums and enterprise campuses, 5G SA has the potential to support experiences that are more agile, immersive and collaborative. The technology may be complex, but the outcome is simple: 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲, 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆. The next wave of #5G growth will rely on the ability of markets to translate capability gains into commercial and economic value 📈 In Germany, Siemens and Telefónica are applying an MTE-style model to water and wastewater utilities, a sector where assets are distributed, processes are critical, and connectivity must perform reliably over long distances. The solution combines Siemens 5G routers with regionally bounded 5G SA #network slices, delivering defined quality of service for use cases such as pressure control, flow measurement and automated emergency response. For MNOs, the message is clear: 𝗠𝗧𝗘 𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗔 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀, 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲. Multi-Tenant Environments may be an emerging concept, but the foundations are being built today 🏗️ #5G Standalone (SA) is central to that shift. SA could unlock $127 billion in enterprise digital transformation revenues up to 2030, according to #GSMA research. But with only around half of network operators having commercially deployed SA networks today, there is still a major gap between market potential and deployment reality. MTEs depend on the advanced capabilities SA enables, including network slicing, QoS, security, exposure, automation and performance assurance. Without stronger SA momentum, operators risk leaving new enterprise revenue opportunities on the table. The proof points are emerging. Now the priority is acceleration: 𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗔 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲, 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘂𝗲-𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗽𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀.
