Hilario “Junjun” Perez Davide III is a lawyer and a veteran public servant from Cebu.
He began his political career as a Cebu City councilor, serving two consecutive terms from 2004 to 2010.
In the 2010 elections, he launched his first Cebu gubernatorial bid but was defeated by then-incumbent Gwendolyn “Gwen” Garcia. He ran again in 2013 and won, defeating then-congressman Pablo John Garcia, Gwen’s brother. He secured reelection in 2016.
After serving two terms as governor, he successfully ran for vice governor of Cebu in 2019, winning over Daphne Salimbangon. He was reelected to the post in 2022.
In the 2025 elections, he is seeking to represent Cebu’s second legislative district in the House of Representatives. He declined an invitation from Governor Gwen Garcia to seek reelection as her running mate, opting instead to pursue a legislative role.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of the Philippines and a law degree from the University of San Carlos. He is the son of former chief justice Hilario Davide Jr. He is married to Jobelle Angan Davide, with whom he has three children.
