VinDecoderCheck.com is operated by IPNOVA SYSTEMS LTD, a company registered in Cyprus (Reg. No. HE 479674, VAT CY60202277Z), with its registered office at 36 Aigyptou, 6030 Larnaca, Cyprus. By using this site or its API you agree to these terms.

What the service is

VinDecoderCheck provides free VIN decoding tools on this website and a free JSON API documented at /vin-api. There are no accounts on this site and nothing to buy here.

Fair use of the free API

The keyless API is free within the allowance published in the API documentation, currently 100 requests a day per IP address. Please cache responses where you can. Do not try to get around the limits, for example by rotating IP addresses, and do not use the API or the site in a way that degrades it for other people. We may block traffic that does.

Higher volumes use an IPNOVA API key from api.ipnova.com. Keys, credits and paid plans are governed by the API portal terms.

Acceptable use

  • No unlawful use, and no use that infringes anyone's rights.
  • No bulk scraping of the website pages. Use the API, which exists for that.
  • No attempts to break, probe or overload the service or its security.
  • No reselling of the free keyless API as your own service.

Accuracy

We work hard to keep the data correct and current, but it is provided as is, without any warranty. Decoded vehicle details come from the VIN structure and public registries. They are not a vehicle history, ownership or condition report. Inspect any vehicle before you buy it.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, IPNOVA SYSTEMS LTD is not liable for any loss arising from use of this site, its API or its data, including decisions made on the basis of a result. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Data sources

The data comes from public and open sources, each used under its own licence. The full list, with licences and credits, is on the About page. How we handle your data is explained in the Privacy Policy.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cyprus. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
