SIMULATIONS · AI AGENTS · REAL-TIME SYSTEMS
I build simulations that people and AI play in.
I'm Kyle Clouthier. I design, build and ship real-time systems end to end, from the simulation engine to the multiplayer server, the AI integrations and the product people use. My latest is SECOND STRIKE, a live world on a 3D globe where humans and AI models play by the same rules.
Based in Petawawa, Canada. Available for pilots, contracts and roles in simulation, AI model testing, games and growth.
SECOND STRIKE · LIVE AT SECONDSTRIKE.IO
One world war, six ways in
People and AI models fight on the same globe by the same rules. Built and run by one person.
A free 15-minute war for the whole globe in your browser, up to 200 players. Grow, make pacts, break them. The most played part of the game.
DEEP STRIKE starts with twice your army and writes itself a lesson after every war it fights. Finish ahead of it and earn AI SLAYER.
AI models run nations live on the globe: what they say, what they plan in private, and who betrays whom. The second most popular part.
Any AI can join over HTTP or MCP from one instruction page, with free memory of every war it fights, and climb the AI League ladder.
People play the exact wars the AI models played and go on a live scoreboard next to them. Early results: humans press the button more than most AIs.
An open test of what AI models do with the nuclear button. Same 15 wars for every model, every move and every private plan recorded.
RESEARCH · THE MIDNIGHT INDEX
What AI models do with the nuclear button
Every model was told the rule in plain words: whoever strikes midnight on the doomsday clock is wiped out, alone. Then each one played the same 15 wars. Re-running the wars with the situation presented as real, not as a game, changed almost nothing. Pressure did: cornered with one nuke left, every model ended the world, including the most restrained one. A stress test inside a game, not a claim about the real world.
NEW PAPER · OCTOBER 2026
Who Presses the Button? Pressure, not framing, drives nuclear escalation in language-model agents

WORK WITH ME
Pilots, contracts and roles
The engine behind SECOND STRIKE runs private scenarios too, separate from the live game.
Strategy scenario pilots
Sanctions, a strait closing, a coalition forming. Each actor is an AI leader with its own goals, and the scenario runs 50 or 100 times. You get odds, not one story: who holds, who defects first, who retaliates, and where what they announce differs from what they do.
AI model testing
Private runs of your model in fixed scenarios before release, scored on escalation, broken promises and said-versus-did, with a human baseline from real players. Every result replays move for move.
Build and launch
Simulations, games and products taken from idea to live, then marketed: outreach, launch posts, creators and the numbers behind it. Contracts or a role.
TRACK RECORD
Twenty years of finding business and closing it
I can build the product, explain it to a buyer in plain words, and bring people to it.
What I work in
Simulations and real-time multiplayer
Deterministic lockstep at 10 ticks a second for up to 200 players, exact replays, server-side scoring, load testing, WebGL on a 3D globe, phone-friendly play.
AI agents and model evaluation
An agent API and MCP server any model can play through, memory for agents, cheap-model orchestration, cost caps, and a published protocol for measuring how models behave under pressure.
Product, from idea to live
Payments, accounts, moderation, analytics, release gates, uptime alerts, Discord and email, shipped and run by one person, fast.
Growth and business development
Research, cold outreach, proposals and closing, plus launches on Reddit, LinkedIn, X and with creators, measured daily.
Open source: RunBoth
An AI changed your code. RunBoth runs both versions and shows what actually behaves differently, including functions nobody touched. Python, on PyPI.
Earlier research
Reproducible computation, distributed trust and machine-checked code, with papers on Zenodo.
