Documentation
Start with Rho, the terminal AI coding agent. Each project's README on GitHub is the source of truth for install steps and flags; this page gets you oriented.
How GrayCode is organized
One agent, a few focused tools
Rho is the terminal AI coding agent and the main GrayCode product. Flux powers its model access, GrayCode Skills extends it, and GrayCode Cloud is an optional hosted control plane.
Agent-neutral tools
Rover (agent workspaces), Across (engineering context and provenance) and Trace (a self-hosted Git forge) are separate open-source tools. They work alongside Rho and do not require it.
Status
Rho is pre-1.0 alpha software, developed in the open. Building from source is the path we recommend today; the Rho README has the current install and build steps.
Build Rho from source
Needs Go 1.26 or newer. Start Rho, open /config to add a provider key and pick a model, then check readiness.
git clone https://github.com/GrayCodeAI/rho && cd rho go build -o rho ./cmd/rho ./rho # In Rho: /config # Back in your shell: ./rho path
Rho is alpha. Follow the README for the current install and build steps. There is no Homebrew formula or npm package.
