I was experimenting with GitHub Actions over the weekend and since I self-host all my projects on Hetzner, I wanted to run my CI/CD build jobs on Hetzner VPS as well. This template contains GitHub Action to automatically create Hetzner Cloud servers and register them as self-hosted GitHub Actions runners. (Link in comments) It launches a Hetzner Cloud Server as a self-hosted GitHub Actions Runner just before the job starts. Nicolas Forgerit gefällt dasNicolas Forgerit gefällt das🎓 7 𝗔𝗯𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗹ü𝘀𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝗻 10 𝗝𝗮𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗻 – 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗸𝗲, 𝗗𝗲𝘂𝘁𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 🇩🇪 Mit großer Freude und Dankbarkeit verkünde ich heute: Ich habe offiziell meinen 7. Abschluss erreicht – den Bachelor of Science in Cyber Security an der Technische Hochschule Mannheim. Als ich im Dezember 2014 nach Deutschland kam, hatte ich nur ein Ziel: Die Jahre zurückzugewinnen, die mir durch Krieg und Flucht genommen wurden. Heute, 10 Jahre später, mit schlaflosen Nächten, Arbeitstagen bis zu 18 Stunden und einigen Schicksalsschlägen, stehe ich hier mit 26 Jahren – mit sieben Abschlüssen, wertvollen Erfahrungen und einem Herzen voller Dankbarkeit. 🙏 Was mir besonders in Erinnerung bleibt? 🛠 Die betriebliche Ausbildung bei Bosch – parallel zur Abendschule. Wo sonst ist so etwas möglich? 💻 Ein Vollzeitstudium in Cyber Security und gleichzeitig die Gründung meines eigenen Startups 🚀 – eine Herausforderung, die mich geprägt hat. 📚 Duale Ausbildung, unzählige Weiterbildungsmöglichkeiten, echte Chancengleichheit – Deutschland macht’s möglich, wenn man bereit ist, den Weg zu gehen. Ich habe gelernt: 💡 Es kommt nicht nur auf große Ziele an, sondern auf die kleinen Schritte, die man jeden Tag geht, um sie zu erreichen. 💪 Mein Antrieb war immer klar: Dranbleiben. Machen statt meckern. Anpassungsfähig sein. Ein großes Dankeschön an dieses Land, das mir die Bühne gegeben hat, mich zu bilden, zu entfalten und Verantwortung zu übernehmen. Und jetzt? 🎯 Die nächsten 10 Jahre warten schon. Aber ich weiß: Der Weg ist das Ziel.

One of the main goals of our Prossimo project is to move the Internet's critical infrastructure to memory safe code. We know that nearly every significant deployment on the Internet makes use of reverse proxy software, the most common of which are not memory safe. That’s why we’re planning to build River in partnership with Cloudflare, Shopify, and Chainguard. River will reduce the chance of memory safety vulnerabilities to near zero. This new software will be built on top of Cloudflare’s Pingora, a Rust-based HTTP proxy, which they open sourced today. Je mehr wir uns helfen desto erfolgreicher werden wir ☺️Nicolas Forgerit gefällt dasThere is a special place in hell for Women who don’t help other Women 😡 - Madeleine Albright Am WE ist mir mal wieder ein Foto in die Hände gefallen, das mir gezeigt hat, dass wir in Sachen Gleichberechtigung noch so gar nicht am Ziel sind. 15 Personen in einer Dinner-Runde. Gründer/Manager. Eine Frau. Da ich die Herren aus der Runde kenne und ja nicht müde werde es anzusprechen, habe ich darauf hingewiesen, dass es doch cool wäre, wenn in diesen Runden demnächst mehr Frauen sitzen. Wir mögen nicht Berlin sein, aber auch in HH gibt es tolle Gründerinnen und Top Managerinnen. Seine Nachricht hat mich dann mal wieder sprachlos gemacht: „Du, zu der Runde hat die Frau eingeladen“. Puh. 🙈 Auch als Mann kann man natürlich trotzdem für uns Frauen eintreten, aber wenn wir Frauen noch nicht mal versuchen uns zu unterstützen, in dem wir andere Frauen mit an den Tisch holen, dann wird es schwer. Sehr schwer. Wie geht ihr mit diesen Situationen um? Ich bin so langsam müde, es immer und immer wieder aufs Neue zu erleben. Daher kommt ein Bild mit besonders fettem Lächeln. Denn, wenn wir die Müdigkeit gewinnen lassen, können wir auch bald gute Nacht Deutschland sagen. Und ich hätte mit dem STRIVE Magazine wahrscheinlich gar nicht erst antreten müssen. Lasst uns doch alle noch mal zum Jahresende ein wenig mehr darüber nachdenken, wie wir uns gegenseitig unterstützen können. Gern auch mal ungefragt. Aber ansonsten reicht ja die simple Frage, ob man helfen kann 🤗

Developers in the Business Central market are starting to ask a different question. Not: “How do I write more code?” But: “What should I actually be responsible for when AI can write half of it?” I had a really interesting conversation with a developer yesterday about this. The role of a developer is slowly shifting. Less time spent writing every line manually. More time spent: • Reviewing and validating AI generated code • Understanding business processes properly • Designing the architecture behind solutions • Making decisions on what should be automated and what shouldn’t In other words, the value is moving away from typing speed and towards judgement. AI will make developers faster. But it will also make experience and decision making far more valuable. The people who understand both the technology and the business problem will become even more important. And I think hiring managers are starting to realise this too. It will be interesting to see how this changes what companies look for when hiring BC developers over the next few years.

For quite a while I have been using NATS JetStream as my messages queue for Symfony/Messenger which allows processing of tasks in the background with different priorities. Great alternative to Amazon SQS which limits us with message size, RabbitMQ which requires a bit more DevOps work or Beanstalkd which is far from being a production-grade tool. NATS JetStream out of the box offers great performance and with minimum of settings can be deployed easily as a container or standalone service for both production and development environments.
