The Civitas University Press is committed to maintaining the highest ethical standards in publishing practice. All publications are produced in accordance with the principles of open science and international standards of publication ethics, including the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The standards adopted also encompass recommendations regarding the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and generative artificial intelligence (GAI) tools in the preparation of academic publications, as formulated by COPE and the Association of Higher Education Publishers (SWSW).
A publishing schedule – including the final deadline for completion – is established in collaboration with the Author. All matters of rights are governed in detail by the publishing agreement concluded by UC with the Author and/or the institution funding the publication.
Publications are made available in open access; electronic versions of our publications are made available on our website and in Polish and international digital library repositories, under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0). These matters are governed in detail by the publishing agreement concluded with the Authors and/or the entity funding the publication.
The open access model increases the visibility of authors' academic output, promotes the international exchange of knowledge, and encourages researchers to publish their findings under the Open Access model.
The Press does not distribute publications. The entire print run is delivered by us to the address specified by the Author and remains the property of the Author.
Substantive oversight of the implementation of publication policy is exercised by the Editorial Board. The Board shapes the strategic directions of the Press's activities, oversees the implementation of the publishing plan, and ensures that all published works meet the highest academic standards.
