🧵 I wrote almost 19,000 lines of code for a Virtual File System in @nodejs core using Claude Code. It started over Christmas and has been refined over almost three months of review. A collaborator challenged whether AI-assisted contributions can meet the DCO requirements.

I’m considering porting nvim to Node. So that we can have plugins fully written and loaded in JS.

Software is free as in puppy. I will happily and repeatedly pay for software built by teams that think very deeply about a specific problem space.

Asked a friend, who works in a successful business and is heavily using AI for building things, why he would use a SaaS vs building it himself. This was his answer. Sure, you have to pick the product, so that's your liability, but that's why you pick SaaS with a good reputation.

Companies contribute in different ways to @nodejs. Some of them are @openjsf foundation members. Others are infrastructure providers. All are valuable. Petabytes of traffic are being served by @Cloudflare for releases. @MacStadium provides Mac OS CI. @vercel host our website…
