- This International Day of Disaster Risk Reduction, one thing is clear to us: the technology exists, the data exists, the communities exist - what’s still missing is the infrastructure that connects all three, at the scale Asia-Pacific needs. We’ve spent years working in some of
the region’s most disaster-prone geographies. What we’ve learned is that resilience doesn’t get built during a disaster but in the years before one, in the systems governments use, the platforms communities trust, the data that makes early action possible rather than accidental. In APAC, too many solutions are being built in silos, piloted in one place, and never scaled to the next. Too many governments are still starting from scratch every time a flood season arrives. Too many communities have knowledge that never makes it into a decision-support systemWe don’t think any single org solves this. But we do think right partnerships can. We're grateful for partners hv helped shape our initiatives: @PJMFdn, @RockefellerFdn, @avpn_asia, @bangkokbma, @AssamFinDept, @osdmaodisha, @HPSDMA, @ContactPARIS21, @LR_Foundation, @ourcommonairA funder investing in long-term climate resilience? An APAC government seeking partners? A researcher, NGO, or platform builder? Let’s connect and find where our work aligns. 🔗 civicdatalab.in | reach us at [email protected] #CivicDataLab #IDDRR2026
