What is Taskade Genesis?
Taskade Genesis is the AI app builder that lives inside a Taskade workspace, from the Y Combinator-backed team that has been building collaborative software since 2017. Where a code generator hands you a repository, Taskade Genesis hands you the running thing: interface, data layer, AI agents, and automations, already deployed and already talking to each other.
Ask it for an internal ops console, a customer portal, a CRM, or a form-driven intake tool and it returns a live application. No repo to clone, no container to build, no pipeline to babysit. Client sign-in arrives with it through GenesisAuth, and one click publishes the finished app to the Community Gallery. Publishing shows the app. Letting other people clone it is a separate choice. Open Share as kit and pick Off, Free, or Paid. Off keeps the listing as a showcase.
What Taskade Genesis actually builds
Taskade Genesis builds deployed, data-backed applications: the interface, the tables behind it, the AI agents, and the automations all come out of one prompt and run on Taskade's infrastructure. Before committing to any prompt-to-app tool it is worth checking whether the AI behind it produces apps that actually open and hold on to your data — the TSK-1 Benchmark grades nine frontier models on exactly that.
What you can build with Taskade Genesis
One prompt builds the app. The app arrives with its own projects (Memory), AI agents (Intelligence), and automations (Execution). The examples below follow the Taskade Genesis prompt guide. Each row is a starting prompt. Taskade Genesis asks a question when a prompt is ambiguous, and you can click any part of the app and tell Taskade EVE what to change.
| App | Starting prompt | Projects (Memory) | AI agent (Intelligence) | Automation (Execution) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Client portal | Build a client portal for a small accounting firm. Clients submit a request with documents. Show my team a board grouped by status. |
Client requests with status stages | Answers questions from the request history | Notifies the team when a request arrives |
| Lead tracker | Build a lead tracker for a wedding photographer. A public form collects name, date, venue and budget. Add an agent that scores each lead Hot, Warm or Cold. |
Leads | Lead scorer with a one-line reason | A form submission creates a lead record |
| Booking app | Build a booking app for a dog grooming salon. Customers pick a service, a date and a time. Send a Slack message for each booking. |
Bookings | Front-desk assistant | A new booking posts to Slack |
| Invoicing app | Build an invoicing app for a freelance designer. Log each job, create a Stripe invoice and email the payment link to the client. |
Jobs and invoices | Answers "who owes me money?" | A Stripe step creates the invoice and payment link |
| Inventory tool | Build an inventory tool for a coffee shop. Staff log deliveries. Flag any item under 10 units in red. Keep the app private. |
Stock levels | Reorder suggestions | A weekly low-stock digest on a schedule |
| Storefront | Build a storefront for a small candle shop with a product catalog, Stripe checkout and an order table. |
Products and orders | Product Q&A helper | An order confirmation after each checkout |
New records and results flow back into your projects, so the loop starts again with fresh data. Two live apps you can open and clone:
Client Portal: a branded sign-in for clients, with request status behind it. Clone it free and edit it by chat.
Neon CRM Dashboard: pipeline stages, client counts and deal value in one view. Clone it free and change the stages.
Agents that keep working after the app ships
An Emergent build ends when the code is deployed. A Taskade Genesis app keeps a team of agents attached to the same data:
- Background agents. Start an agent from a schedule, a new email, or a form response. It reads the web, works with your connected apps, keeps persistent memory, and can wait for your approval before a risky step. Wingman is one design for an always-on assistant. The Always-On AI Agents guide compares the designs and their costs.
- Teams of specialists. On Pro and above, describe a team in plain English. Taskade EVE creates the specialist agents, and they share one workspace memory. AI Subagents vs Agent Teams explains when a team beats a single agent.
- A public agent for your users. Publish an agent to a link, or embed it on any website as a widget. Visitors chat without a Taskade account, and every conversation lands in the Agent Inbox.
What is Emergent?
Emergent is an AI app builder that turns natural language prompts into full-stack web and mobile apps: frontend, backend, and database code, hosted on Emergent or exported through GitHub. Founders, small business owners, and developers use it to get from a description to a working product.
Emergent at a glance (Sep 2026): Bengaluru-based, founded in 2025. Builds web and mobile apps from a prompt, charges by credit (Free 10, Standard 100, Pro 750 a month), and hosts deployed apps for 50 credits a month each. Launched Wingman, a messaging-first assistant, in April 2026. Announced a $130M Series C at a $1.5B valuation on 2026-07-15 and reported more than 12 million apps built (Business Wire).
What you get on a free plan
Emergent Free gives 10 credits a month, and Taskade Genesis Free gives three hosted apps with agents and automations. The table below compares the two free plans as published in September 2026.
| On the free plan | Taskade Genesis | Emergent |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly allowance | One-time free credit grant on signup verification and on the first build | 10 credits a month, reset each month |
| Hosted apps | Up to 3 Taskade Genesis apps | Deployment is not included on Free (help center plan table) |
| AI agents | 1 agent | Custom agents are a Pro feature |
| Automations | 10 automation runs a month | Not listed on the pricing page |
| Team members | 2 | Shared workspaces are a Business feature |
| App sign-in for your users | Included on every plan, Free too | Not listed on the pricing page |
| What a build costs | Draws on the credit grant | Third-party guides estimate 10 to 20 credits for a landing page and 100 to 200 or more for a full-stack app with payments |
On Emergent, a small landing page can fit inside a free month. A full-stack app with sign-in and a database usually does not, so Free works as a trial. On Taskade Genesis, the free plan keeps three finished apps live, which makes it a place to run a real first project.
What hosting costs on each platform
Emergent bills hosting in credits, and Taskade Genesis includes it in the plan. The arithmetic below uses Emergent's published figures: 50 credits a month for each deployed app, and $20 per 100 credits on top-ups.
| Deployed apps | Hosting credits a month | Share of Standard's 100 credits | Value at $0.20 a credit |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 50 | 50% | $10 |
| 2 | 100 | 100% | $20 |
| 3 | 150 | 150% (needs a top-up) | $30 |
These figures cover hosting only, before any building or iteration credits. Pro's 750 credits stretch further, but the same 50-credit charge applies to each app. Taskade Genesis Pro is $10 a month billed annually, includes hosting, and keeps up to three apps live on the Free plan. If you run one small app, either model is workable. If you run several apps for clients or teams, a flat plan is easier to forecast.
Where each tool wins
Generated full-stack code you own — Emergent
If the goal is a full-stack codebase that the team can edit and take to GitHub, Emergent is purpose-built for that workflow. It also lists mobile app building on its plans, while Taskade Genesis apps are web apps that you share by URL.
Working app right now — Taskade Genesis
If what you need is the application running — not the source that produces it — Taskade Genesis hands that over on the first prompt, with its data layer, agents, and integrations already connected. Nothing to provision, nothing to deploy, no cloud bill arriving separately.
The Workspace DNA advantage
Emergent's mental model is "AI generates a codebase, the team deploys it." Taskade Genesis's mental model is Workspace DNA: a self-reinforcing loop between three pillars.
- Memory (Projects) — Specs, tickets, docs, and structured tables sit in the same workspace the agents read from, so context is not something you paste into a prompt window. Read How Workspace DNA Works.
- Intelligence (Agents) — AI Agents v2 keep memory between sessions, carry tools you define, and can be embedded inside a shipped app for the people using it.
- Execution (Automations): Reliable workflows fire on Slack messages, GitHub events, Stripe charges, webhooks, or a schedule, act through the agents, and write what happened back into the workspace.
▲ MEMORY (Projects)
Your data, docs and history.
/ \
writes back / \ feeds
/ \
● EXECUTION ■ INTELLIGENCE
(Automations) (AI agents)
Triggers, actions, schedules, Reason over Memory,
100+ integrations. use tools, decide.
\ /
\____ triggers the next action ___/
Execution creates Memory. Memory feeds Intelligence. Intelligence triggers Execution. One prompt builds all three, plus the app people see.
Emergent is excellent at one slice of that: generating the codebase, and with Wingman it is now reaching into ongoing tasks. Taskade Genesis keeps all three pillars running together, so the work your team does inside the workspace is the same work that makes the next app faster to build.
Pricing comparison

Other Emergent alternatives at a glance
Emergent is one of several prompt-to-app tools. The table lists what each one leaves you with after launch, as of September 2026. Each name links to a full head-to-head.
| Tool | Best for | What you have after launch |
|---|---|---|
| Taskade Genesis | A business system that runs every week | A running app plus the workspace behind it: data, AI agents, automations |
| Lovable | A polished web MVP | A generated codebase that syncs to GitHub |
| Replit | Editing, running, and hosting in one place | A hosted project you keep developing |
| Bolt.new | Code you download or push to GitHub | A repository you deploy yourself |
| v0 | Front-end and interface code | Interface code you wire to your own backend |
| Base44 | A same-day standalone app | A hosted app with a database and sign-in bundled |
Free plans differ in what they cover. Compare them by how far each one gets you toward a usable app, not by the starting price alone: credits, hosting, and deployment change the final cost.

Frequently asked questions
Is Taskade Genesis a good Emergent alternative?
When the job is a deployed app you can ship today — yes. When the job is owned source code with full deployment control, Emergent remains the better fit.
Is there a free alternative to Emergent?
Yes. Taskade Genesis Free keeps up to three hosted apps with agents and automations, and it starts with a one-time free credit grant on signup verification and on the first build. Emergent Free gives 10 credits a month and does not include deployment, as of Sep 2026. Lovable, Replit, Bolt.new, and Base44 also have free tiers. Judge each free plan by how far it gets you toward a usable app.
Why do people look for an Emergent alternative?
Three reasons follow from Emergent's published plans. Credits meter both building and hosting, and hosting each deployed app costs 50 credits a month. Deployment is not included on the Free plan. And Emergent produces a codebase, so a team that wants a running business system with agents and automations adds that layer separately. Taskade Genesis includes hosting, agents, and automations in the plan. If you want owned source code or a native mobile app, Emergent remains a strong fit.
How does Taskade Genesis pricing compare to Emergent?
Taskade Genesis is Free Forever, with Pro at $10 per month billed annually for unlimited apps and 10 seats, and Business at $25 per month billed annually for unlimited seats. Emergent's Standard plan is $20 per month ($17 billed annually) for 100 credits as of Sep 2026, and hosting each deployed app costs 50 credits a month.
Does Taskade Genesis include AI agents?
Yes - AI Agents v2 with persistent memory, built-in tools for web search, code execution, and file analysis, custom tools, and public embedding. On paid plans, a hosted MCP server connects Claude Desktop, Cursor, and VS Code to the same workspace.
Does Taskade Genesis include workflow automations?
Yes - reliable workflows across 100+ bidirectional integrations, on a managed runtime with no worker process to operate.
Do I own the code that powers a Taskade Genesis app?
Taskade Genesis is a managed platform: hosting, deployment, and agent infrastructure are included, and your Taskade Projects export to Markdown or text at any time. Pro and above can also export an app with its projects, agents, and automations to GitHub. If owning a standalone full-stack codebase is the requirement, Emergent is the fit.
Which AI models power Taskade Genesis?
Taskade includes access to 15+ frontier models from OpenAI, Anthropic, and open-weight providers. No API keys to wire up, no providers to manage, and one AI allowance included in your plan instead of a bill per provider.
Can a non-technical user build with Taskade Genesis?
Yes. A plain-English description is the whole interface — no terminal, no deploy step, no waiting on engineering capacity.
How much does Emergent cost in 2026?
Emergent lists Free at $0 with 10 credits a month, Standard at $20 per month ($17 billed annually) with 100 credits, and Pro at $200 per month ($167 billed annually) with 750 credits. Business and Enterprise are custom-priced. Credits reset monthly, and top-up credits do not expire.
Does Emergent host my app, and what does it cost?
Yes. Emergent hosts deployed apps and its help center prices deployment at 50 credits a month for each app. Deployment is not included on Free. On Standard, one deployed app uses half of the 100 monthly credits before any building. On Taskade Genesis, Free keeps up to three apps hosted, and Pro and Business include hosting in the plan price.
What is the difference between Emergent Wingman and Taskade AI agents?
Wingman, launched in April 2026, is a messaging-first assistant that works through WhatsApp, Telegram, and iMessage and connects to Gmail, Outlook, Google Calendar, Slack, CRMs, and GitHub. Taskade AI agents live inside the workspace next to your projects, keep persistent memory, run inside automations, and can be embedded in a published app. Wingman is a personal assistant in a chat app; Taskade agents are teammates inside a business system.
Can Emergent build mobile apps and can Taskade Genesis?
Emergent lists web and mobile app building on its plans. Taskade Genesis builds web apps that you publish to a URL, share, or embed. If a native mobile app is the deliverable, Emergent is the closer fit.
Who founded Taskade?
John Xie, Dionis Loire, and Stan Chang started Taskade in 2017. It went through Y Combinator and now serves more than a million users worldwide.
Can I publish a Taskade Genesis app to a custom domain?
Custom domains are available on Business ($25/mo billed annually) and above. Email-and-password sign-in through GenesisAuth works on every plan including Free, and password protection starts at Pro.
