The Office of Intelligence & Analysis (I&A) is the only Intelligence Community element statutorily charged with both delivering intelligence to state, local, tribal, territorial, and private sector partners, and synthesizing information from those partners to deliver actionable intelligence products that support operational planning and threat mitigation.
The core of I&A's mission is to enable the seamless flow of information to state, local, tribal, territorial, and private sector partners to empower them to detect, prevent, and respond to threats effectively. It's vital that the information I&A disseminates is clear, concise, correct, corroborated, and timely.
The Under Secretary for Intelligence and Analysis is Matthew Kozma.
Intelligence shared by I&A arms federal, state, and local law enforcement to implement actions that prevent terrorist activity, execute federal immigration policies, strengthen physical and cyber security, and protecting America's economic interests. In doing so, I&A's Intelligent Oversight Program and Guidelines ensures that this work protects Americans' privacy, civil rights, and civil liberties.
I&A has built strong relationships across the public and private sectors, creating a dynamic homeland security network. I&A maintains a presence at each fusion center around the country, ensuring state and local leaders are well-informed of current and emerging threats to the homeland. Through insightful analysis, trusted partnerships, and a commitment to innovation, I&A empowers those who stand guard over the homeland to ensure our nation’s security and resilience in a rapidly changing threat environment.
