This month’s Loot Crate is galactic-themed, and once again we have a video of opening it up and getting the squishy merch inside. It’s all sci-fi, and it’s thoroughly rad.
There isn’t a t-shirt this month, but two figures and two props make up for it. In this case, the Loot Crate includes a Tribble (sadly, just a furball, not the kind that squeaks or trills), and a stack of banknotes from Firefly. That’s a pretty good start.
There are also two neat figures. One is a Funko ReAction figure from Alien. ReAction is Funko’s line of Kenner-style old-school licensed figures, with limited articulation and sculpting, and packaging designed to look like you just picked it up at Woolworth’s in 1982. I got the Xenomorph — or, if you prefer (and I do), the Big Chap.
There’s also a Funko vinyl blind box from the company’s general sci-fi wave. I was hoping for Judge Dredd, but chibi Mal Reynolds is pretty good, too. Yet another fridge magnet this month, this time a neat Asteroids-like screenshot with Star Wars ships. It goes with a fold-out Han Solo in Carbonite mini-poster. There’s some downloadable stuff, too. No games this month, but a set of Halo: Escalation digital comics were in the crate, along with promises of coupon codes for various gaming gear sites.
Surprisingly, nothing from Guardians of the Galaxy, but it’s gotten a ton of play with the last two Loot Crates. And all of America. No word on what next month’s Loot Crate theme will be, but I’m hoping to see them at New York Comic Con in October.
