Security researcher Conrad Longmore has been putting in some terribly long hours browsing the most popular porn sites, arriving at the predictable conclusion that many feature aggressive adverts that have the ability to download files to your PC and open the door to all manner of nasty sexually transmitted malware.
Longmore selflessly visited the likes of xvideos.com, pornhub.com, redtube.com and more, finding that the security risk doesn’t come from the sites themselves, but from domains used to serve third-party advertising. Given that Longmore says the largest of these sites account for an enormous two per cent of daily internet traffic, that a lot of room for potential hackery.
If you’re planning a sneaky ten-minute period of personal relaxation, it might pay to slip on a digital condom by engaging your ad-blockers and deactivating Flash before you disengage your trousers. [Dynamoo via BBC]

best line in a blog this week for sure..
Like Hell it was for research purposes. Australian scientist discovered in their labs that regular masturbation reduces prostate cancer by up to 30%. I wonder how they got to this conclusion ….
Deactivating flash? How will that help, you’ll be safer but not satisfied…
Isn’t most porn flash?

“My work plan for the year is to stress test our product under extreme network conditions. I shall do this by attempting to download large image files from the busiest servers on the internet”
Sex sites, like betting sites are harvest sites for viruses and similar parasites. Transfer methods are Flash, Java and JavaScript. There are always vulnerabilities that have not yet been patched in many browsers, so when a misguided porn watcher stumbles on the website without protective antivirus they walk away with rogue antiviruses and worse.
