Description Visitors can tour an Italianate villa built in 1856 and a double log cabin on the same site. The 23-room villa was built by Mathias Ham and has been authentically restored. Its furnishings are examples of those preferred during the antebellum period along the Mississippi River. The log cabin belonged to a lead miner. The home is near the entrance to Eagle Point Park and to Riverview Park.
The Ham House is a gothic mansion that is located on the north end of Dubuque. It looks out over the Mississippi River, standing as a historic reminder of days gone by. But everything in the house may not be quite what it seems.... because as the years have passed, visitors to the house report that a strange presence lurks here, manifesting itself in unexplainable lights and in cold chills that seem to originate from nowhere.
Admission $3.50 for adults, $1.50 for children ages 6-15
