Our client identified the opportunity to develop a modern IT-based solution to replace planning systems currently used by vehicle maintenance operators.

The solution needed to be a scalable system of the highest quality. Since the product is to be sold globally the system had to work in multiple languages upon launch and allow for new languages to be added easily as the product expands into new markets.

Inflecto systems built a Bespoke Web Based System to meet these requirements. The system includes:
• multi-tenanted system
• JavaScript rich interface facilitating:
o intuitive visual map layout platform
o smooth navigation around any sized depot on any sized screen
o full pan-zoom functionality similar to that offered by online map applications
o Instantaneous dissemination of real-time information across all users

The solution is completely cloud based and was developed as a web based .NET application.

In Auguest 2011 we completed a system for Nova Interiors Ltd, a bespoke contract furniture business which have grown in size and reputation over the last 25 years. The majority of their processes were manual and time consuming making it hard for the directors to focus on business development.

We were tasked with building a system to automate many of their processes, in an efficient and cost effective manner whilst also improving the visibility of key information across the business.

Inflecto Systems built a bespoke ERP System which incorporates the majority of Nova Interiors processes. The system currently includes:

- a web-based interface which is easy to navigate with the minimum of clicks and is accessible from anywhere with an internet connection;
- automatic creation of key documents such as Quotes, Orders and Delivery Notes;
- several calendars allowing the tracking of key events and milestones on projects;
- management reports displayed on the dashboard providing an instant overview of the business including year on year comparisons;
- integration with TAS Books.

The system covers the entirety of the business from marketing and lead generation, through quotation, order refinement and manufacturing.

The system was developed as a web based .NET application which is hosted in our data centre. Show less

Ross led the team creating a tech demonstrator for a new fintech start-up. Trigon pay is currently seeking seed funding and when achieved Inflecto expect to be working with trigon to build out their initial MVP

Ross led a two-man team to create a system for receiving and processing AIS messages and then using this to display real-time and historic shipping information as a map layer that can be integrated into other systems. The project is intended to be an add on to the WF-OPS project that Inflecto aim to sell into the European Offshore wind market.

Ross worked as part of a team redeveloping the Chromocyte website.

Ross led the team to create a system to manage the client billing and tiered franchisee and carer payments for a home care provider. The system was responsible for recording timesheet entries, billing clients, calculating the shares for the franchisor, franchisee, and career, and then creating all the necessary invoices and bills in Xero. The system was then extended to provide scheduling and rostering for client visits.

Ross worked as part of a team developing an online tool for calculating shipping duties and charges for international trade.
As part of the system a domain specific language was created to enable the system owners to encode duty calculations and the system also includes a chat bot which can answer simple queries on international trade.

Ross led the team designing and developing a system to perform aerial windfarm inspections. The project involved integrating and testing a helicopter mounted camera and laser range finder from Shotover Systems using a proprietary protocol called COIP (CAN bus over IP). The system consisted of an application running inside the helicopter integrated with the camera and a backend cloud managing system for storing, processing, and uploading images. Ross led the team developing a product for E.ON delivered as a managed service and owned by Inflecto for managing the movements of offshore teams around the windfarm.

Ross was part of a team responsible for creating a job board focused on the niche area of Flow Cytometry.

Ross led the development team to create a product for a start-up spun out of Inflecto Systems. The product was a workforce optimisation tool aimed at the hospitality industry. Ross was also involved in pitching events and liaising with investors as the company sought seed funding. Despite considerable interest from investors no funding was ultimately obtained.

Ross led the team to build a system that automated the creation of macro-nutrient controlled diet plans and meals for a rapidly expanding company.

Ross designed and commissioned the network components for a micro ISP as the failure of the Digital Region left Inflecto and their neighbouring businesses without adequate internet connectivity. I-Connect consist of a fibre connection to the local cluster of buildings where Inflecto is located shared out via PPPoE network running on top of switched Ethernet.

Quality Health is a Healthcare Commission approved national contractor and works for 360 Trusts throughout England on the National Patient and Staff Surveys. Their work covers Foundation Trusts, Acute Hospitals, Specialist Acute Trusts, PCTs, Mental Health Trusts, Ambulance Trusts, and SHAs - every part of the NHS.

Their work covers Foundation Trusts, Acute Hospitals, Specialist Acute Trusts, PCTs, Mental Health Trusts, Ambulance Trusts, and SHAs - every part of the NHS.

Between 2006 and 2011 Quality Health had grown at a very rapid pace, the types of questionnaires they need to process had changed significantly and the workload was increasing year on year. The systems were struggling to cope with the vast amount of data being pushed through them along with the trend towards more complex survey requirements.

The new system is composed of over 10 sub-systems and has been built utilising a Service Orientated Architecture (SOA). The sub-systems all work in concert with each other and key parts of the system are built in such a way to allow the system to scale out by adding further processing nodes.

The system also integrates with several key NHS systems such as the Demographics Batch Service (DBS) and the Health and Social Care Information Centre (HSIC) allowing Quality Health to automatically detect deceased patients or patients that have moved address and upload PROMs data directly to the government. Ross led the team to develop a new product for Zone Green. The brief was to design a web-based management tool for visualizing and managing trains inside maintenance depots for Zone Green.

Ross led the development team to create the main product for a new start up called U-Source. The product took historic call centre traffic and used this to predict future call volumes and then combined this with staff ability to automatically roster call centre staff around the expect calls. The rostering part of the system was implemented as a genetic algorithm. The system was eventually bought by Puzzel.

Ross worked as a key part of a team to supply software for Northgate Public Services who were the prime contractor for the PROMs pilot programme for the NHS. Ross worked with various Northgate subsidiaries and another contractor specialising in Oracle and SQL Server to deliver the systems for the pilot. The system integrated with several NHS systems including the Batch Demographics Service and pushed data to the NHS Information Centre.

Inflecto Systems began working with Professor Graham Pockley from the University of Sheffield to make his online flow cytometry resource concept a reality. The concept involved creating a specialist online resource for helping researchers plan experiments which analyse cells using a technique called flow cytometry.

Inflecto took the concept and created a website which simultaneously interrogates the product catalogues of multiple reagent suppliers and provides current information on reagent availability.

The website (www.chromocyte.com) has a section for designing experiments that are tailored to specific equipment available at a Users institution and it can help the researcher identify the correct combination of antibodies and control reagents and the companies that can provide these in an easy and intuitive interface.

It also includes a portal to other online flow cytometry resources and a unique educational and interactive communication environment allowing researches to access training, share tips and troubleshoot online.

The system was developed as a web based .NET application which is hosted in our data centre.

The project went live in July 2010 and won an award for being one of the most successful projects in the Yorkshire Enterprise Fellowship scheme.

The website has a global profile and has over 10,000 pageviews a month. Show less

Ross launched Inflecto Systems and began working with Quality Health who wanted to integrate an Optical Mark Recognition system provided by EMC Captiva to replace their manual questionnaire processing systems. Throughout this period Quality Health grew to become the leading supplier of NHS Questionnaires in the UK and Ross worked to ensure their systems could cope with processing millions of questionnaires on behalf of the NHS.
