Миссис Тиздэйл пытается примирить мужчин, но лишь еще больше распаляет их. Трентино посылает своих шпионов за военными планами Свободии, хранящимися у миссис Тиздэйл. И Чиколини, и Мизинчику приходит в голову одна идея: переодеться Светляком. Таким образом, в оборот запущены целых 3 Светляка.Чиколини раскрыт и предстает перед судом. Светляк отвешивает пощечину послу, и на сей раз война между Свободией и Сильванией разгорается всерьез. Ход военных действий отмечен рядом инцидентов: например, Светляк открывает огонь по собственным войскам. Но приходит подкрепление, и Трентино вынужден сдаться.► Последний фильм братьев Маркс, снятый для студии «Paramount». В то время он разочаровал публику, но с годами стал самым ценимым и знаменитым их фильмом. Маккэри оставил воспоминания о том, как тяжело было работать с братьями. Труднее всего было собрать всю четверку на съемочной площадке. Они часто приводили с собой бригаду «гэгменов» - разную всякий раз. Их маниям и звездным капризам не было числа. Иногда они уходили с площадки ровно в 18.00, прямо посреди сцены. «В конце концов, мы стали добрыми друзьями, - заключает Маккэри, - но я лучше заплачу за билет и посмотрю на них в кино, чем еще раз встречусь с ними на площадке» (см.
