2024
VK increases stake in "Mnogo Prilozheniy" to 100%
VK has become the sole owner of software developer software company "Mnogo Prilozheniy", increasing its stake in the firm from 70% to 100%. This is confirmed by data from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities (USRL).
VK acquired shares in "Mnogo Prilozheniy" from digital product developer Red_mad_robot. Initially, VK bought a majority stake of 70% on February 5, 2024, and the remaining 30% in July 2024.
Transaction details are not disclosed. VK stated that the goal of the deal was to strengthen its digital product development team; this objective was confirmed by Interfax in a press service statement both before and after the asset consolidation in July 2024.
According to the company's website, "Mnogo Prilozheniy" is working on a new app store. The site does not specify which app store it refers to, but notes that it will be available for download on Android devices version 6.0 and higher.
According to Kommersant, "Mnogo Prilozheniy" may participate in the development of the Rustore app store (owned by VK). VK explained to the publication that the corporation acquired a stake in "Mnogo Prilozheniy" to strengthen its digital product development team. They also noted that various contractors participate in the development of Rustore, conducting research and analytics.
The newspaper reports that VK bought "Mnogo Prilozheniy" for its IT specialists. According to Ilya Dinershtein, chairman of the board of directors of "Robbo", acquiring specialists through company purchases is particularly suitable "for creating new developments within tight deadlines." However, as a general rule, large businesses acquire small ones not only for their staff — "product developments are also needed," says Nikolay Ulrich, director of infrastructure consulting and cybersecurity at Axenix.[1]
VK Acquired 70% of "Mnogo Prilozheniy"
VK acquired the company "Mnogo Prilozheniy," which participated in the development of the mobile app store RuStore. The corresponding record of the transaction was entered into the Unified State Register of Legal Entities (USRLE) on February 5, 2024.
According to "Kommersant" citing data from this registry, LLC "Company VK" acquired a 70% stake in LLC "Mnogo Prilozheniy," which was previously wholly owned by digital services developer red_mad_robot (LLC "RedMadRobot"). VK confirmed the fact of the deal to the newspaper and explained it as "strengthening the team for developing digital products."
At [[RedMadRobot (Рэдмэдробот)|red_mad_robot], they confirmed that the company cooperates with VK, as it does with "many large companies," but all technological processes for developing RuStore are concentrated within VK. VK added that they involve "various contractors to conduct research and analytics" in working on RuStore.
A source of the publication in the IT market linked the purchase to a "shortage of qualified IT professionals" experienced by major Russian holdings, noting that "in this situation, attracting ready-made teams through asset acquisition is a normal solution."
According to co-founder of digital platform development company Arcsinus [[Golub Pavel Pavlovich|Pavel Golub], it is more beneficial for large companies to acquire ready-made teams that are already familiar with their business logic. Moreover, he believes that "Mnogo Prilozheniy" was likely created for cooperation with VK.
CEO of CorpSoft24 [[Renzyaev Konstantin Vasilyevich|Konstantin Renzyaev] suggests that VK might buy out the entire "Mnogo Prilozheniy" company, and he valued the deal for selling 70% of the startup at 20 million rubles.
| Most likely, VK bought a stake in "Mnogo Prilozheniy" with the aim of quickly acquiring necessary resources. Given the shortage of personnel and tight deadlines for task implementation, such a deal is justified, - he said in an interview with "Kommersant".[2] |
