On behalf of the City of Salem, the Salem Public Art Commission, Salem 400+, and Wellpoint, you are cordially invited to attend the rededication of the restored President George Washington's Lansdowne Portrait on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 11 a.m. in the City Council Chambers at Salem City Hall.
Following a months-long conservation effort funded by Wellpoint, the portrait has been carefully restored to preserve this important piece of American history for future generations.
We hope you will join us as we celebrate the completion of this important restoration and the continued preservation of one of our nation's most significant historical portraits.
