Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•What is your interesting fact or knowledge that is completely useless that you wish to share?
31·18 hours agoMe too, but I forgot most of them!

Lemmy Shitpost@lemmy.world•You are going to lead the revolution aren’t you?
173·1 day agoKnowing little of the matter: French protest a lot but seem to achieve fairly little. The Yellow Jackets wreaked havoc of the country for a couple of months… got nothing. Current protests don’t have a real political agenda other than “this is not okay” and I haven’t heard of a political response other than wait-it-out.
Even without sugar, bread and pasta are usually from white flour, that is quite processed and should not be eaten too often. You can replace by rice and other cereals or whole grain, they are all better options
From what I remember, death penalty drug need to be approved to be “painless” (gag+sarcasm), so there are very few legal options and fewer yet being still produced.
The reason i dropped out of the worst in Stardew Valley: too many characters!
This is the main reason I hate quests. I would start something, not play for a month or so, come back and having to figure out where I had left off. By the time I was caught up, my gaming time was over.
Point taken, sadly accepting the reality of AI infiltrating everywhere
I joined Lemmy a couple of years ago and I already notice more user engagement. I would like a little bit more, such that more niche communities can have an ecosystem of posters instead of a single one doing most posts. But not much more indeed
If they still reach out knowing that time are rough, they are consciously and willingly signing up for the “OP unfiltered experience”. You should consider if you can use the help.
The leaves and shrubs are very consistent, I think the car in the background is actually two cars
I love how the balloon is expressive!
I find the sound of rolling thunder extremely calming… as the sound of splashing rain. While i don’t care much for the sound of light and gentle rain

News@lemmy.world•A looming ‘tsunami’ of church closings is poised to remake America
111·4 days agoExactly same. Plus I moved around a lot. I am trying to create a social net around my family, but it’s really not the same thing as a community. That sense of entering the church and being welcomed even if you didn’t know the people there… I really miss it

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•If ghosts were real every restaurant would be haunted as fuck
19·4 days agoIf ghosts are like fossils, we would only have a handful over the whole world, so it really depends on the ghostification process

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•Do you ever check the clock at work and it’s 3:30 and an hour later you check again and it’s 3:25?
4·5 days agoAnalog, digital, some thing: I read something, forget/misread, convince myself it’s later, get disappointed when I check the time again.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•You're informed before your death that you will be reincarnated as another human being but with choices as to what to retain from your past life, what are they?
2·5 days agoUff, such a hard question! I would love to re-find the people I love in this life, but if that isn’t given I wonder if remembering them would do good. I am already really miss all the ones that are not here anymore, missing everyone would be such a hard burden to carry.
If it is known that I will be reincarnated in the future, my history and science knowledge would definitely come in handy. If reincarnated in the past, probably less so.
About core elements… I like not feeling peer pressure and being able to make up my own mind. I am fairly analytical. I would like to keep that. I also stick to my friends with almost-infinite loyalty. I would keep that, because without I would not feel like me anymore.
Some friendships just work in different ways. Some talk at length about the problem, others talk around the problem. Mostly it a mix of both. As long as everyone involved feels connected the words used don’t matter

I want to offer words of support. I commend you for not drinking and for taking a break from weed. Both are great for your official and mental health.
In a poor analogy, you can think of weed as very soft and comfy shoes. You remove them after a long time and you are now walking bare foot. It’s bound to hurt and be uncomfortable. But you’ll build your calluses back, and it’ll get better. In the mean time, eyes on the goal and cheers for your achievements!
