An -uniform
tessellation is an edge-to-edge tessellation of
the Euclidean plane by regular
polygons that has
transitivity classes of vertices
under its full symmetry group, where
is a positive integer.
The 1-uniform tessellations are sometimes known as Archimedean tessellations. Here
edge-to-edge means that the intersection of two
distinct regular polygons is empty, a common polygon vertex, or an entire polygon
edge of both regular polygons. The numbers
of
-uniform
tessellations for
,
2, ... are 11, 20, 61, 151, 332, 673, ... (OEIS A068599).
