Package thieves are real and the holidays are prime time for them to strike. If you want to protect your packages, consider getting them delivered in your garage instead of at your doorstep. And yes, there's a safe way to do this.

The best tech deal this week

The Apple iPhone 18 Pro is free right now with T-Mobile

Amazon linked up with the MyQ app, which connects to WiFi-enabled garage doors and lets you open/close the door via your phone. If you have one of these compatible garage doors (you can buy a setup at the bottom of this page) and are an Amazon Prime member, you're good to go. You don't have to pay an extra fee for in-garage delivery, and if you try it now you can get a $30 Amazon credit by entering the promo code KEY30 at checkout.

The Amazon delivery person will open your garage door, drop the package right inside, and close it back up. You're able to monitor the delivery within the app, so you can feel confident that it'll actually be a safe and secure transaction. This service is only available in select cities, so check the Amazon Key information page for your eligibility.
