Akitsushima. Dragonfly Island

In Japanese culture, in addition to determination, the dragonfly was also a symbol of courage, persistence, and victory. It was referred to as kachimushi – “the victory insect” – and ancient chronicles had given Japan the poetic name Akitsushima – the “Dragonfly Island”.

Almost every day our museum is visited by groups of pupils and students, to view our current exhibitions, but also to take part in additional activities prepared specifically for them. We hold educational exhibits targeting the youngest age group as well.
