“Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.”

Welcome to my little corner of the internet.
I'm Lakshit, a Computer Science student and software developer who enjoys turning random ideas into things that actually work.
My preferred form of magic?

I'm particularly interested in backend systems, developer tools, web applications, open source, and building useful software from scratch.
Currently wandering through the endless corridors of:
- 🐍 Python & backend engineering
- ⚡ FastAPI & API design
- ⚛️ React & modern web development
- 🦀 Systems / low-level experimentation
- 🐳 Docker & deployment
- 🧠 Data structures & algorithms
- 🐧 Linux & open-source software
- 🪄 Browser internals and open-source contributions
Some of the projects currently occupying my workshop.
A self-hosted Platform-as-a-Service designed around simple deployment.
Instead of making developers fight with complicated deployment workflows:
Code → One Click → Docker → Deployed
Spell components:
FastAPI React SQLite SQLAlchemy Docker
A technology news platform that gathers and presents the latest tech stories through automated feeds.
Spell components:
React Node.js RSS
A Linux desktop security experiment built around facial recognition.
Because apparently a password wasn't magical enough.
Spell components:
Python OpenCV face_recognition PyQt
A Flutter application designed to perform media and file conversion locally, without relying on cloud services.
The interesting part?
The conversion engine is written in C++ and connected to Flutter through FFI.

I also enjoy building smaller tools that solve very specific problems.

Because sometimes the best project is the one that saves you five minutes every day.
I don't just build software.
I like opening the hood and figuring out how software actually works.
Recently I've been exploring and contributing around projects such as:
- 🐧 Linux ecosystem
- 🌐 Browser internals
- 🦊 Ladybird
- 💬 Zulip
- 💬 Rocket.Chat
Sometimes that means writing code.
Sometimes it means reading thousands of lines of code wondering:
“Who summoned this bug?”
And sometimes it means discovering that the bug was caused by one missing line.
The cauldron is currently bubbling with:

I'm especially interested in understanding how things work underneath the abstraction, rather than simply learning how to use them.
When I'm not fighting compiler errors:
☕ Coffee — an essential dependency.
🎮 Gaming — because software isn't the only thing worth building.
📸 Photography — occasionally capturing something that isn't a stack trace.
🍳 Cooking — another form of controlled experimentation.
🧠 Overthinking — unfortunately this feature ships by default.
🥞 Pancakes — the origin of yummyPancake2607.
I don't want to just collect technologies.
I want to understand them.
My long-term goal is to build software that is:
Simple
+
Useful
+
Scalable
+
Well Engineered
=
✨ Good Software ✨
And eventually, I'd love to turn that obsession with building things into something much bigger.
Want to talk about code, open source, projects, Linux, or why something inexplicably stopped working?
Send an owl.
Keep building. Keep breaking. Keep learning.
