Description

Backports two commits from 5.0 that decouple UI e2e tests from scanner responses to reduce test flakes.

User-facing documentation

Testing and quality

  • the change is production ready: the change is GA, or otherwise the functionality is gated by a feature flag
  • CI results are inspected

Automated testing

  • added unit tests
  • added e2e tests
  • added regression tests
  • added compatibility tests
  • modified existing tests

How I validated my change

Test code only. Low risk if CI is green.

The logs in failed gke-ui-e2e-tests is evidence that this works, but is unfortunately not a total fix. Legacy VM tests have not had the same treatment applied so are unfortunately prone to the same failures... :(
