The blanket "This endpoint has been deprecated by Spotify." notices on getArtistsRelatedArtists, getRecommendations, getRecommendationGenres, getTracksAudioAnalysis, getTracksAudioFeatures, getSeveralTracksAudioFeatures, getFeaturedPlaylists and getCategoryPlaylists all trace back to the same source: Spotify's November 27, 2024 platform security update.
That announcement is a restriction, not a shutdown: it only blocks apps still in Development Mode without a pending extension request, and apps registered on or after that date. Apps that already had Extended Quota Mode access before then keep working and can ignore the notice entirely. The generic wording didn't convey any of that, so callers had no way to tell whether the warning applied to them.
Each notice now states who is affected, who can ignore it, and that Spotify has not announced a replacement (except getCategoryPlaylists, which already pointed at the Search API as a workaround).
