Mechanical & Industrial Operations · Administration & Business Systems · Workflow Automation

Twenty years in technical operations, quality and training, followed by a move into digital systems and automation. I come from a workshop and documentation background, and that is still how I work: understand the system before changing it, write it down, verify the result.

Career path: Mechanical / technical → ~20-year structured technical and operations career → administration / operations → digital systems → part-time freelancing (2015–2025) → full-time freelancing (2025–present) → automation → e-commerce.

About me

From 2003 to 2023 I worked in a technical and operational environment that began with Pakistan Air Force service: workshop and machining work, quality control, inventory and maintenance records, documentation, process compliance, technical instruction, and shift and team supervision.

In 2015 I began freelancing part-time alongside that career, building experience in digital administration, cloud systems, e-commerce and workflow automation. In 2025 I moved to full-time freelance work.

Today I build automations, integrations and data systems for small businesses and agencies — but the engineering discipline underneath comes from the first twenty years, not from the last ten.

Period Track

2015 – 2025 Freelance client services, part-time alongside the above
2025 – present Full-time freelance: automation, integrations, business systems

Mechanical & industrial

Workshop-based technical work in a controlled operational environment: workshop operations, machining, and lathe / CNC at basics / exposure level.

The quality side went with it — QA / QC checks, recording the result, and following the written process rather than improvising. Work orders, maintenance records and material records are covered under operations below. That habit of working to a record is the single most transferable thing I carry.

Operations & administration

  • Documentation and records. Maintaining technical and administrative records so they are findable and auditable later, not just filed.
  • SOP and process compliance. Working to written procedure in an environment where deviation has consequences.
  • Operations systems. Internal intranet-based operations and maintenance management system: data entry, inventory control, work-order tracking, maintenance records, reporting and material issue/receipt documentation. ERP-style internal system, not a commercial ERP product.
  • Quality assurance and control. Checking work against standard and recording the result.
  • Training and instruction. Technical instruction — teaching other people to follow a process correctly, which is harder than following it yourself.
  • Shift and team supervision. Coordinating people and work across shifts, with handover that survives the change of personnel.
  • Security and CCTV exposure. Familiarity with monitored-access and camera-system environments.

Automation & digital systems

The work small businesses actually hand over: an export where the same person appears three times under three spellings, a file estate that has to survive a migration exactly as it was, a workflow that stopped firing last Tuesday and nobody knows why.

  • Workflow automation — n8n, Make.com, Zapier: multi-app workflows, scheduled processing, and integrations between tools with no native connection.
  • Google Workspace systems — Apps Script, Sheets, Gmail, Drive, Forms, Contacts: scripted spreadsheets, generated forms, mailbox structure, Workspace troubleshooting.
  • API and data integration — REST APIs, webhooks, JSON, field mapping, authentication and failure behaviour.
  • Data quality — deduplication, reconciliation and cleanup, with conflicting values reported rather than quietly dropped.
  • Cloud migration — Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, Mega: file estates moved with structure and names intact, and verified afterwards rather than assumed.
  • Client operations systems — Jotform intake, CRM workflows, file architecture, handover documentation.

How I design reliable automations

The part clients pay for is not the workflow. It is that the workflow does not quietly corrupt something at 3am on a Sunday.

Understand source and destination before touching either · define the source of truth in writing · map the fields · handle duplicates deliberately · validate inputs · test with controlled data, not live records · verify the result by counting it · handle exceptions and stop rather than guess · document the handover so it survives without me.

103 of 221 completed Fiverr orders were individually reviewed before the platform presented a human-verification step and the audit stopped. Every rating observed across those 103 was 5 stars. The remaining 118 are counted in the 221 total but were not individually reconstructed, and nothing has been estimated to fill the gap. Full accounting: fiverr-project-archive.

E-commerce

Catalogue and store operations across Amazon, eBay, Etsy, Shopify and WooCommerce: product listings, inventory, pricing, product images and account administration. I also operate my own Etsy shop, EverlanceAutomation, selling business-systems templates and setup services — which covers listing creation, digital product packaging and storefront structure end to end.
