This repository is a small collection of example Helmsman skills.
These templates are intentionally:
- Not token-optimized
- Not exhaustive
- Not tailored to any single codebase
- Not production-ready
They exist as a starting point for learning the format and for copying/adapting into real projects.
Skills live in .skills/ as *.j2 (MiniJinja/Jinja) templates.
Current skills:
commit- Create a high-quality git commit (conventional commits + staging workflow)pr- Open a GitHub pull request (with a PR description template)review- Perform a high-signal code review (severity-first, actionable findings)debug- Structured debugging/triage workflow (engineer/agi only)
PRs are welcome.
If you add new skills, keep them:
- practical (real workflows)
- minimal (avoid dumping environment details; use detection only to change instructions)
- self-contained (avoid includes unless you ship the partials too)
