The [project] table uses PEP 639 metadata (an SPDX license expression plus license-files), which setuptools supports only from 77.0.0. With setuptools 69-76 the table fails validation and the built sdist carries broken metadata, the same failure class as the 3.4.5 "Name: unknown" sdist. Refs python-ldap#616
The [install] section's compile/optimize flags leak into bdist_wheel's internal install step and bake slapdtest/__pycache__/*.opt-1.pyc files into locally built wheels. Refs python-ldap#615
