phpCollab Release Process

  1. Check out a clean copy of the repo to a temp directory. git clone --depth=1 --single-branch --branch=master git@github.com:phpcollab/phpcollab.git phpcollab
  2. Change into the phpcollab directory using cd phpcollab
  3. Run composer --no-dev --prefer-dist install to pull down all the vendor packages needed, skipping the require-dev packages
  4. Delete the .git, .gitattributes, .github, .gitignore directories rm -rf .git*
  5. DO NOT include the includes/settings.php file!!!! This file should not exist if you followed the instructions above.
  6. Create an archive of the phpcollab directory, phpcollab-vx.x.zip
  7. Go to phpCollab Github Releases page and click “Draft a new release”
    1. Create a new tag using Semantic Versioning 2.0.0 | Semantic Versioning that mimics the new phpCollab version
    2. Add a “Release Title” usually just the tag/version number
    3. Add notes in the description field as needed.
    4. Attach the .zip file created in step 4 above.
    5. PUBLISH!

Bare minimum description add:

Several security fixes and code optimization
- [Commit Log](https://github.com/phpcollab/phpcollab/commits/TAG)
