Solution Architect & Full-Stack Lead Developer from Croatia. I take complex product requirements, design the system end to end (data model, API contract, UI) and lead the build across frontend and backend. My work spans compliance automation, healthcare data platforms, enterprise CRMs and national-scale postal logistics.
Currently leading frontend at Openlane and contributing to its Go backend, and running my own studio, PapistaCODING.
- 1,000+ merged pull requests across Openlane: the Next.js console, the Go core, the Trust Center and the marketing site
- ~42k monthly npm downloads of
nextjs-nav-guard, my maintained navigation guard for the Next.js App Router - ~97% of a Data Platform frontend (16.5k+ lines) written by me at a US healthcare data startup under NDA, plus the matching Django backend features
- 3M parcels a year tracked through the Track & Trace app I built for a national postal service
- 7 years shipping production software, from global consumer products (IQOS) to B2B SaaS
US healthcare data startup (under NDA) · Solution Architect & Lead Full-Stack Developer · 2025 – 2026 Healthcare provider-network data for workers' comp and PPO networks: provider directory search, plus a data platform where vendors publish versioned datasets to a marketplace and consumers subscribe.
- Turned complex client feature requests into delivered features, designing each one across frontend and backend (data model, API, UI) and then building it
- Designed git-style data provenance: a live provenance graph with branching and conflict resolution, and a draft → publish workflow for field-level edits
- Delivered cross-cutting features in React and Django: admin field locks, record cloning, top-down edit sharing with subscribers, version pinning for subscriptions
- Set up end-to-end type safety by generating TypeScript + Zod clients from the Django Ninja OpenAPI schema
- Built Meilisearch-powered provider search with virtualized infinite scroll; wrote 100+ test files (Vitest, Playwright)
Openlane · Lead Frontend Developer · 2024 – now Open-source compliance automation for SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR and NIST.
- Lead the architecture of
openlane-ui: component system with shadcn/ui + Storybook, migration from URQL to TanStack Query, GraphQL-generated types, Next.js middleware auth - Backend work in the Go
core: policy document management, role and permission graphs for groups, vulnerability sorting and assignment, file storage fixes - Contributed to the Trust Center, a Next.js 16 app deployed to Cloudflare Workers

These are the biggest engagements. Alongside them I've delivered numerous freelance projects for clients through Upwork and my studio, from requirements to deployment, with a 100% job satisfaction score.
I start from the data model and the API contract, keep types flowing end to end from the database to the UI, and design features so the next request is cheaper than the last. I'm as comfortable in a client call untangling a vague requirement as I am in a code review, and I mentor the engineers around me.
Most of my client work lives in private repositories, and a good part of it was done on Azure DevOps and GitLab, so it doesn't show up here. Happy to walk through it on a call.
