Currently observing significant functional gaps between semantic-kernel-java and its Python/.NET counterparts (e.g., Python/.NET already support multi-agent orchestration, while Java version remains at LLM+Tool level).
Key Questions:
- Roadmap Alignment
Are there plans to bring Java version to full feature parity with Python/.NET (especially multi-agent workflows.)?
If yes, what is the estimated timeline for major milestones?
- Divergence Policy
Will Java remain a functionally reduced version due to technical constraints, or is the disparity temporary?
Interop Possibilities
For features not natively implemented in Java (e.g., Dapr integration in .NET), will there be workarounds like interop with Python services?

We are working on an internal plan to unify various capabilities and align with agenting features at AI Foundry, but no public roadmap just yet. CC John (@johnoliver)

Considering the project activity and the date of the last release, I guess we can assume that the project is more dead than alive.

We'll be porting over to the new Microsoft Agent Framework. We'll post back here when that work is underway and in the public domain.

No further updates as of today. I'd also recommend keeping an eye on: https://github.com/microsoft/agent-framework where any potential future work will take place.

I see that a Go SDK has been added but no news on Java. Is it on the roadmap?
