Summary

Expose the modern com.google.android.gms.auth.APP_CERT service action on the existing AppCertService, alongside the legacy com.google.android.gms.auth.be.appcert.AppCertService action.

This is a manifest-only compatibility alias. No AppCert implementation or Binder behaviour changes.

Why

While investigating RCS compatibility for #2994, the modern APP_CERT action was found to be a real service-discovery gap: current microG advertised only the legacy action.

On a locked, non-root Pixel 3 running current Google Messages RC02:

  • before this change, the legacy action resolved to org.microg.gms.auth.appcert.AppCertService;
  • com.google.android.gms.auth.APP_CERT returned no matching service;
  • after installing the exact candidate, both actions resolved to the same existing AppCertService.

AppCertService itself is unchanged and its existing Binder is reused.

Validation

  • rebased on current upstream master (4c74e5acb79479004428be755547432294639878 at qualification time);
  • full :play-services-core:assembleMapboxDefaultRelease build passed (BUILD SUCCESSFUL in 7m 25s);
  • physically validated on a locked bootloader / green Verified Boot / non-root Pixel 3;
  • exact before/after service-resolution check performed on the same device;
  • source diff is exactly one file, +1 line / -0 lines.

This intentionally does not make any broader claim about completing RCS provisioning; it only closes the AppCert service-discovery compatibility gap.

Port the alternate com.google.android.gms.auth.APP_CERT intent filter
from @paulcakeface microg#3815 so Messages/clients that bind that action can
reach AppCert. Constellation SpatulaHeaderProvider tries the classic
be.appcert action then APP_CERT. Add AppCertManager Spatula fallback
unit coverage aligned with microg#3808.
