A minimal Lovelace card for surfacing the most recent bill discovered by the Utilities Email Tracker integration. The card highlights the provider, masked account number, billing period, due date, and amount due.
This card only renders data — it does not read any email on its own. Install the companion integration first:
ljmerza/utilities_email_tracker
It polls an IMAP mailbox, parses utility-bill emails (and PDF attachments), and
exposes a sensor.<your_email>_utility_bills entity whose bills attribute
this card reads. The integration is available in the HACS default store — search
for Utilities Email Tracker under Integrations.
This card is pending inclusion in the HACS default store. Until it is merged, add it as a custom repository:
- In Home Assistant, open HACS.
- Click the ⋮ menu (top right) → Custom repositories.
- Add
https://github.com/ljmerza/utilities_email_tracker_cardwith type Dashboard (called Lovelace or Plugin in older HACS versions). - Search for Utilities Email Tracker Card, then click Download.
- Reload your browser (a hard refresh may be needed to clear the old bundle).
HACS registers the dashboard resource for you. If your dashboard is in YAML mode, add the resource manually as shown below.
Copy utilities-email-tracker-card.js into your Home Assistant www
directory (for example: /config/www/utilities-email-tracker-card.js) and add
the following resource entry:
url: /local/utilities-email-tracker-card.js?v=1
type: moduleAdd the card from the Lovelace dashboard editor and configure:
- Entity – the Utilities Email Tracker sensor (e.g.
sensor.my_account_utility_bills) - Optional Title, Provider filter, Displayed fields, and Bill index can be adjusted in the card editor. Leave the bill index blank to list every available bill.
The card defaults to the title Utilities when a custom title isn't
provided. All matching bills are rendered with their provider, status, and key
details so you can scan every utility in one place. Use the displayed fields
settings to pick from Amount Due, Due Date, Account Number, and Billing Period.
The provider filter performs a flexible match against the bill attributes, so
you can enter a partial provider name (for example just PSNC) or sender
address to target the correct bill.
The card automatically formats dates using your Home Assistant locale and displays the first matching bill based on your filter or index.
