PR #4339 has already merged the Lance beta.18 dependency update and CombinedFields handling into this PR's current base. Compared directly with that base, this head only changes a Python error message and rewrites the remote regression assertion; the stated upgrade is already present. Please close this PR as a duplicate. If either remaining edit has independent value, propose it against current main with its own rationale.

Updates the Rust Lance dependencies and Java lance-core to v13.0.0-beta.18. Handles the new CombinedFields query variant in the remote capability check and Rust bindings, with a remote query regression test. Validation passed: workspace Clippy with warnings denied, Rust regression test, four Python FTS tests, 19 Node query tests, Node build/docs, and formatting/lint checks.
