A minimal, terminal‑based typing trainer designed to help improve accuracy and muscle memory for the Colemak‑DH keyboard layout. The trainer focuses on per‑key statistics, adaptive feedback, and clear visual progress bars to make practice efficient and targeted.
This project was created to support a personal goal: becoming significantly more accurate and confident on Colemak‑DH by drilling individual keys until they reach 100% correctness.
- Real‑time per‑key accuracy tracking
- Green/red progress bars with percentage indicators
- Highlighted active key during training
- Raw keyboard input (no Enter required)
- Stops automatically when selected keys reach 100% accuracy
- Clean terminal UI
- Tested on Python 3.14
My name is Johnny, and I built this tool to train myself to type more efficiently using the Colemak‑DH keyboard layout. I wanted something lightweight, fast, and focused — without distractions — so I wrote my own trainer that drills exactly the keys I want to master.
