Feature request: Add support for typing with mypy #563

Open

Description

@lindycoder

Problem:

Using the aws_encryption_sdk in a project with mypy produces this error:

error: Skipping analyzing "aws_encryption_sdk": module is installed, but missing library stubs or py.typed marker

Solution:

I attempted to simply add the py.typed marker file to my virtualenv and it seems not as simple, a lot of other incompatibilities.
Maybe stubs or .pyi could be provided

Thank you very much!

    Hey! Is this issue still open?
    Can I take this as my first issue and contribute?

    "Hi maintainers! I’ve been analyzing this issue with mypy. Running mypy against aws_encryption_sdk surfaces ~60 internal type errors largely stemming from attr.s usage and dynamic assignments. To address this cleanly for downstream consumers without risking breaking changes to internal logic, I'd like to propose adding PEP 561 compliance via a py.typed marker and .pyi stubs for the primary public APIs (init, identifiers, materials_managers, and EncryptionSDKClient).
