The data is sourced from Marine Regions, licensed under CC-BY 4.0.

The name of each sea/ocean is in the NAME property of its GeoJSON feature.

For the TopoJSON file:

import map from "oceans-seas.geojson/topojson";

Download the World_Seas_IHO_v3 shapefile from Marine Regions to the root directory of this repository.
Unzip the file.
Adjust the scripts in package.json (e.g. filter other fields or change the simplification level).
Run the build script.
