MindFlow — Adaptive Productivity Application (Case Study)

Repository type: Product documentation / case study
Source availability: NOT AVAILABLE — Canonical source hosted on Base44; full export requires Base44 Builder plan
Status: Architecture verified via Base44 inspection; behavior, schema, and live application not yet audited
Last updated: 2026-09-23

What MindFlow Is

MindFlow is an adaptive productivity application designed around variable human capacity — not rigid task lists. It explicitly models energy, friction, executive function, and behavioral patterns to help users operate sustainably across fluctuating states (focus, fatigue, hyperfocus, recovery, chaos).

Canonical platform: Base44 (App ID: 69ffc127443f6c1b56bb1ceb)
Current implementation: Deployed on Base44; source not locally exportable
My role: Product design, architecture definition, behavioral modeling, automation logic specification

Problem It Addresses

Traditional productivity tools assume consistent capacity: fixed energy, linear time, binary done/not-done. They fail when:

  • Energy fluctuates hourly/daily (mental, physical, social, motivational)
  • Executive function creates friction: task resistance, dread, vague/oversized tasks, wrong timing
  • Hyperfocus consumes disproportionate time without awareness
  • Recovery/chaos states require different rules, not "push through"
  • Behavioral history (postponement patterns, energy mismatches) is invisible

MindFlow treats these as first-class system concerns, not user failures.

Product / System Concept

Core thesis: A productivity system should adapt to the human, not demand the human adapt to the system.

Adaptive dimensions:

Dimension How MindFlow Models It
Energy Multi-axis (mental, physical, social, motivation, stress) — 0–10 daily
Capacity Available minutes per context/location
Friction Explicit detection: postponement, dread, vagueness, size, dependency, energy mismatch
State Recovery mode, chaos mode, minimum survival mode
Automation Human-control levels: AUTO / SUGGEST / ASK_FIRST

Verified Architecture (from Base44 Inspection)

12 Entities

Entity Purpose
DailyState Daily energy snapshot: mental/physical/social/motivation/stress (0–10), available minutes, location/context, recovery/chaos flags
Task Core work unit: title, status, priority, type (task/appointment/reminder/idea), energy tags, due/reminder times, recurrence, estimated duration, dread flag, archive, project/decomposition relationships
Project Goal-oriented containers: goal, status, priority, deadline, progress, category, next action
UserPreference Working hours, sleep/wake, focus duration, recommendation limits, reminder tolerance, energy defaults, planning style (flexible/structured/minimal), weekend behavior, notification prefs, automation permissions, primary friction, onboarding
Routine Trigger-based ordered routines
AutomationRule Triggers (10): overdue task, postponed task, exceeded focus, low physical state, high stress, voice-captured appointment, missed/completed recurrence, friction detection, task creation, spiraling overload
Actions (11): move to review, friction check, hyperfocus warning, recovery mode, chaos mode, minimum survival mode, calendar suggestion, recurrence scheduling, friction flag, decomposition suggestion, reminder-noise reduction
Levels: AUTO / SUGGEST / ASK_FIRST
FocusSession Planned vs. actual focus time; hyperfocus alerts
TaskEvent Full event log: created, started, paused, rescheduled, postponed, completed, abandoned, blocked, focus sessions, decomposition, merge, friction detection
FrictionPattern Detected patterns: repeated postponement, never started, exceeds estimate, repeatedly opened, dread, energy mismatch, blocked dependency
Reasons: too vague, too large, missing info, emotionally unpleasant, requires another person, wrong timing, excessive energy, not important, unknown
VoiceCapture Temporary voice transcripts, summaries, extracted tasks, auto-deletion metadata
TaskTemplate Reusable tasks/habits with energy and recurrence metadata
User Account entity

Energy Tag Taxonomy

low, medium, high, social, admin, chaos-compatible, bedridden-compatible, outdoor, creative

External Connectors

81 connector types available via Base44; 0 currently connected

Source Availability Limitation

Constraint Detail
Platform Base44 (no-code/low-code platform)
Export capability Full source export requires Base44 Builder plan
Current access Architecture inspected via Base44 UI; no code export performed
Local source None — no complete export exists locally
Repository content This repository contains documentation only; no source code
Future source integration If/when Base44 export becomes available, this repo can accept source under src/ with appropriate review

Do not interpret this repository as an open-source code release. It is a documented case study of a product whose source is currently platform-locked.
