In response to #47 I'd like to request that if synchronization is implemented a standardized protocol shall be used instead of the proposed Google Firebase.
WebDAV is a a HTTP extension specified in RFC 2518 and RFC 4918 which has been in use since 2007. It is a common standard and supported build-in by nearly every current operating system and by most document management systems or cloud vendors (NextCloud, AWS, Google Drive, OneDrive, Box, ...)
Besides being supported by Windows, OSX and most Linux systems out of the box there are multiple python librarys available for implementing this.
