I think, this should rather go into an add-on, as I don't see any reason why these graphics should be implemented in the main game. |
i think some of the new transition tiles are nice, but stuff like the slime and new sign icons seem like bloat to me. |
Also, the snowy trees have been removed because they didn't look that good and were incomplete. A better version might be made later.
My reasoning for adding these tiles is this: There are two types of slippery tiles in Icy Island. So i don't see why there shoudn't be at least one type of slippery tiles in Rooted and Corrupted Forest. If they don't fit in the current plans for the forest, they could always appear in BI2 and future addons.

- place added tiles into their appropriate categories - rock block tiles are in the correct category - condense `tiles/forest/slope_transitions.png` - probably more changes, but those are the main points.

I still see no point to the slime tiles. They are just 6 additional tiles which don't fit absolutely anywhere. Nobody has requested slime as a concept at all. But if you want it in your add-on, then sure, but add it to that add-on instead. Regarding the cracked branches, these look really odd. I'm not even sure why the falling branches are even there, if they shouldn't be rather removed completely. But okay, if you want to resurrect them, then maybe rotten branches could work. |
Adds various new graphics.
Checklist:
Why I made these changes:
The falling branches currently look exactly like regular branches. This can be irritating when playing a level and having a tree branch fall down unexpectedly. I added cracks in them to make it more clear that they are unstable.
These are just useful if you want slopes that are not in any theme (they go along with tile
1)I needed some of these for an add-on I was making, and transition tiles are always useful to have.
Slippery tiles are one of the mechanics that are seen in Icy Island but are totally absent in Rooted Forest. I added slime so slippery tiles could be seen in World 2. If there isn't any place for slime in Rooted Forest, then it could potentially go into Bonus Island II. The Bonus Islands are a place to introduce concepts unseen in Story Mode, so it would probably be a good place for slime.
Slime was also a suggestion in the wiki (see here)
