Glanceboard is a modern, customizable Android widget dashboard with a ColorOS-inspired frosted-light interface. It is a clean alternative to OEM feeds such as Quick Glance: no card store, ads, account, or built-in Chinese content.
It works as a normal standalone app and can also be the target of ColorOS Swipe Launcher, turning the left swipe from the first Home screen into a personal dashboard.
- Host real, interactive Android widgets from installed apps.
- See a large visual preview for each widget before adding it.
- Arrange compact, wide, tall, and large cards in a responsive bento grid.
- Resize, reorder, and remove widgets with accessible button controls.
- Choose pearl-light, system, or dark themes.
- Tune real dialog/photo blur, five accent colors, and four aquamorphic backgrounds.
- Use an optional private photo background.
- Adjust card opacity, corner radius, grid spacing, greeting, clock, and date.
- No network access, analytics, ads, account, or requested permissions.
- Download the APK from the latest GitHub release.
- Open the APK on the phone and install it normally. ADB is not required.
- Open Glanceboard and tap Add widget.
- Choose a widget and approve Android's one-time binding prompt.
- Use the pencil button to resize, reorder, or remove widgets.
- Use the sliders button to customize the dashboard.
To use the ColorOS left-page gesture, install ColorOS Swipe Launcher 0.1.2 or newer and choose Glanceboard as its target. Swipe Launcher resets ColorOS to the real Home page underneath, so the bottom Home gesture leaves Glanceboard without revealing Quick Glance.
Glanceboard supports standard Android AppWidgetProvider widgets—the same format used by third-party launchers. The picker uses each provider's generated preview, preview layout, or preview image. When none is supplied, it shows a clearly labeled app-icon fallback.
A widget that is private to an OEM launcher, hidden from all pickers, or protected by a signature permission may not be available. Labels and content inside a widget come from the app that provides it; Glanceboard's own interface is English.
Adding widgets does not require the privileged BIND_APPWIDGET permission. Android shows a confirmation screen instead. Choosing a background photo grants access only to that selected document, not to the photo library.
Glanceboard requests no Android permissions and has no internet access. Widget data stays between Android, the widget provider, and the on-device dashboard. Settings are stored locally.
Install Android SDK 36 and JDK 17, then run:
.\build.ps1The script runs Android lint, assembles the debug APK, and writes build\Glanceboard-v0.2.0.apk. You can also run ./gradlew lintDebug assembleDebug directly on macOS or Linux.
This independent app is not affiliated with OPPO, OnePlus, realme, or any widget provider.
